I spent a lot of time snorkeling and visiting with the fish. As far as snorkeling goes it was pretty good. I also hiked a short loop from the beach which had some really good views. We didn’t want to leave, as the sun set behind the rocks my kids just played and played as my wife and I sat under the shade of the trees hanging out over the sand. We hiked in on the trail and hiked out on the rocks. Highly recommend. If you can walk up a decent but short hill you can manage the hike. Our 7 and 9 yr old made the hike no problem.…

This beach is a little further north than Las Catalina’s beach. Set deeper into the cove it is a little calmer water and the sand is whiter and softer to enter the water. Nothing on the beach for food, etc, but you can walk the beach in low tide to Las Catalina’s. You can also hike there by taking the mountain bike trails that start on the north side of Las Catalinas Beach. Follow the signs after the wooden walkway. You will climb up a number of switch backs, probably 150 ft and then descend to the beach. The views are very good as you go up before you decend.…

Visited Playa Dantita this week for a little snorkel. Some new coral and quite a few fish. I would recommend you cross rocks from Playa Danta vs. going over the hill. It’s quite a bit easier, just check the tide. Shade at the beach.

True tropical paradise. Crystalline waters, abundant sun cover in the rainy season and a small beautiful set up make it a wonderful spot for a relaxing beach day. Note that you can only access it through the rocks from Danta during low tide or by a short 900 meter hike through the hill. Make sure you are wearing proper shoes. Sandals may be tricky if wet. It is a medium intensity trail and if you are carrying more than a backpack, you will probably need a breather or two. Snorkeling is a fun option but don’t expect much surfing. Very much worth the walk.…
