This place is perfect if you are staying at Las Catalinas or Hotel Santarena. The best time to take a kayak or paddle board out if you want to snorkle is very early morning (7-8). Saw a few fish, lots of sea urchins, and a sting ray! If you are here at the right time of year you may even see some sea turtles! We found a nest on the beach that appeared to have hatched within the last week or so. Reasonable rates and the surf wasn't too rough for us to get out and enjoy ourselves. Nearby islands were fun to navigate around. They are quite rocky though, so best to enjoy the view from the sea.

My husband and I decided that we needed to try a bit of mountain biking in CR. We are avid mountain biking riders from Colorado. We ended up renting full suspension bikes for a couple hours and headed off to the pretty well marked trails. Jake the owner showed us a nice loop to do and expectations, funny we found out he was from Colorado as well. The only issues we had was my bike, it wasn’t very well maintained as I would of liked for the cost we paid for the rental, my husband had no issues. My ride would’ve been way better with a properly shifting bike. Jake did apologize for the inconvenience and didn’t charge us for the extra time we were out past our rental (mainly due to the bike). Overall it was a great experience, make sure you have enough water and some electrolytes for an extended ride (humidity can be a challenge)...

Espresso is $ 2.50, cool....but I asked to put some milk in and I paid at the end $ 5.20...🤦🏻‍♂️ When I went back to ask they guy told me that it is the same price like a Capuccino... I mean...this is what you do to attract people in these times...?

I am a fan of riding in mountain bike terrain and although I am not the best at riding I take every trail I can. I give them a 5 out of 5 as the trails are perfect and the guide my parents hired for me was fabulous, his name was Ruben. At first I thought I knew enough to take on the trail easily but my parents still got Ruben to accompany me. Which was perfect as the first time I learned a lot when it comes to gear switches, braking and balance. So not only was Ruben guiding me through the trails he was also playing the role of being my biking mentor. After this I could took on all the trails my parents allowed me with confidence, but after getting permission to go farther one day because I got myself company I wanted to go farther into the bigger trails. The following days me and Ruben had a lot of chit chatting so that was awesome as it showed me he is not treating me as a client, he is treating me as if were friends, as if wee know each other. On our second ride we took on a big hard mountain with Ruben and he did great at pushing me forward when he believed in me, telling me to calm down when the terrain could be out of my comfort zone and the range of my abilities, and also at waiting when I needed a breather. So I believe he took me to another level as he corrected me what I did wrong, add skills to my arsenal, improved the skills I already possessed and he made for great conversation and a great friend. Thats the main reason I give Ruben and the people at Pura Vida Ride a 10 out of 10 because they are not only your guide, they are not only accompanying you, they are not only the guys at the store, they are your friends. Everyone else at the store was also cool but I personally got along better with Ruben and the other latin guy as I felt I could identify with both of them at the moment of talking. They also have a great service at the bike shop when it comes to repairing as both of the times I had bike problems they fixed in no time. The view from the trails was outstanding and the richness in animals, I rode side by side with a deer, I was able to pet a fox which fell asleep on the road and I got within 1 meter of a humpback whale which for my safety and their safety I didn't touch it.
