Cromwell is not well advertised on the web, which as it turns out is a good thing. The heritage area which was partly saved and partly moved when the nearby river was damed is an awesome spot to spend a few hours. There are cafes...More

Really cool little shops and cafes. Right on the lake with stunning views. Worth a visit for sure - probably the best shopping in Cromwell and in such a cute setting.

Great to find a working remnant of what once was by way of colonial buildings complete with a local market on Sunday. Worth a stop.

We stopped through with some friends and children while visiting the area. There were several buildings filled with information, photographs and items from the old townships. Plenty to interest history buffs. There is also a cafe, a couple of galleries and a craft shop utilising...More

Visit this small historic area and enjoy the cafes and galleries. Owner of OCTA gallery is very interesting to talk to. Pleasant contrast to the “new” purpose built town centre of Cromwell. Pleasant views over the water.

The precinct has a nice mix of businesses and historic displays. The galleries etc. are fun to browse. The Office is a great place to have a coffee or try their own brew of craft beer.

This is a remarkably well preserved historical precinct. But the weather was awful during our visit, with strong gusts of winds. There wasn’t many places we can take shelter and this ruined the experience somewhat.
