On a rainy day, the Akarua Cellar Door warmly welcomed us. They did a generous line-up of six wines for a free tasting. The pourer was engaging but not intrusive.

Went to Akarua as part of the wine tour we booked. The place was lovely and costumer service was very engaging. I end up forgetting my favorite winter Wool jacket behind and had to fly back to Australia the following day. I called and left...More

Helpful and knowledgable cellar door person. First stop of the day and a good impression of the area. You can do tastings at their Lake Hayes location but it is nice to be where the action is.

This was our final stop on our wine tour. The staff was completely overwhelmed so we waited for quite some time to taste the wines. The tasting room was uncomfortably hot, so we all waited outside. During our tasting, the staff seemed absent minded as...More

Apologies for the late response here. I am extremely sorry you encountered less than perfect service when visiting us in December which was a very warm month in Central Otago particularly in the afternoons. We do have air conditioning but perhaps the amount of people...More
