We were actually headed to another winery late in the day, however they had closed early. Bannock Brae was close by and their sign said open so we paid them a visit instead. We were give a friendly greeting by Catherine and a wine-tasting of five delightful wines. Two whites, a pinot rose and two pinots. Good information was given... More

This place was great. Very accommodating, willing to talk at length about the process, grapes, history and inventions of their own. We walked away from here with smiles and bottles.

The atmosphere is great – cozy living room with a great view on the vineyards. The kind and funny dog Baxter make everything even more enjoyable :) We were there on a nice sunny day...just perfect! Catherine is a wonderful host – she made us a very interesting and personal wine tasting. Totally recommended!

Thank you Karmen for your lovely review. It is just a pity that the weather didn't allow us to be outside but we are glad that you enjoyed your tasting anyway. More

Stopped here to sample a few wines. Loved them all so had to buy one of each! The hospitality from Crawford and Catherine was top rate. The view from their home over the Clutha was fabulous. Definitely recommend this boutique vineyard as a place to visit.

Happened upon Bannock Brea driving through the picturesque Cromwell area and decided to see what we could find. The hosts were super friendly and Baxter the Labrador / Collie cross was equally so too. Getting to hear about the wines from the people who make them and understanding what has gone into them and made them special was a treat.... More

We visited here late in the afternoon on a beautiful clear spring afternoon. We sat in the sunshine overlooking the Cromwell valley and enjoyed tasting some absolutely incredible wines. The owners were very friendly, and it was clear that they are truly passionate about the wines they are producing. A wonderful boutique vineyard, made even more wonderful with the handsome... More

Crawford was a legend he directed us through his variety of wines which were fantastic and as we got through them we all couldn't decide what to buy next. Would recommend this place the setting was amazing and the hospitality second to none. It's a must do if your in this area he handled the van full of kiwis from... More

Total paradise sitting outside on the owners patio with a gorgeous view, being informed on how all the wine we tasted was made, especially 'Marlene's Gurner Veltliner' made the old German way. Came away with a bottle of the above, very special and of course delicious bottle of 2011 Barrel Selection Pinot noir. Were made so welcome and came away... More

This was the final stop to our "Degustation Wine Tour". We had already had many wines most good, some very good. It seemed the best was saved for last. The owner was very personable. Beautiful location, too.

We visited this vineyard during an organised wine tour, It was such a treat to meet and discuss wine with the owners. The wine itself is stunning - we ended up with Pinot Noir, Riesling and Pinot Gris. But we could have had more! A must for anyone in Central Otago - and the prices are reasonable too!

Thank you Sarah. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. Since we don't produce Pinot gris I think you must have taken a bottle of our Gruner Veltliner along with the Pinot noir and the Riesling. More
