After convincing my friends because of my love Blondie, this was an awful experience. The service was rude and honestly just appalling. Construction all around us, we wanted to support the winery but clearly, they didn't appreciate our custom because she made us awful for arriving at 4.20pm when the winery closed at 5pm. I do recommend going to Nanny Goat because that was amazing wine and service which we couldn't fault

Customer service! Went for a drink and some light bites after a bike ride in the area........from the moment we arrived we should have realised allwas not going to be good as there was no one else there!
We should have left.
Abrupt greeting followed by abrupt unhelpful service, followed by unhelpfulness. All we wanted was a glass of wine in the afternoon sun with aplate of some cheese and crackers-apparently they couldnt do this as it wasnt offered that way on their menu-perhaps they should have said they could do it but it would cost a bit more and was that acceptable to us......but no, so we drank our glass of wine and went to another winery and spent the rest of the afternoon drinking there.
Not sure if owners have changed, but they need to get it together and fast-we will not return.

Fantastic sparkling rose, but with a limited menu after 3, we only shared the fries which were pretty average.
The Korean sauce was more like a mayo and unfortunately these new premises are style over comfort. More 90s city wine bar than cosy rural vineyard. Staff were super friendly although there were about 6 milling about polishing cutlery, we sat at a dirty table.
Cheap white cafe tables already wobbly look out of place. It's not cosy with no comfy seating areas so perhaps they are wanting to focus more on group tastings than a place for locals. On a sunny day with no outside shade, it will be very uncomfortable for outdoor diners.
Hopefully the full menu will make it worth a visit as compared to all the other vineyards in the region, it needs a bit more soul

We walked here as part of the 4 barrels walking tour- arriving after 30minutes in the heat, and all the way down the long driveway only to find a sign saying no pets. We had intended to have platters and buy wine but had to turn around and walk 20mins to the next vineyard. Another couple came in behind us and was also turned away (rather rudely when they asked if there was any way they could sit outside with their tiny dog)- so they lost four customers.

It seems crazy they are part of the advertised walking tour yet can’t accommodate our walking companions (the other three vineyards on the trip do)

My wife and I visited here as part of a Wanahaka tour, which we definitely recommend. Although there is a lot of land development going on the tasting room and restaurant were excellent. We had a cheese board along with a tasting of several wines. The pinot gris is sublime! The vision and forward thinking of the owner will mean this will be an even better experience in the future. We left with a nice selection of pinot gris, riesling, blondie and pinot noir. Definitely put it on your visit list.

The newly built winery is vastly different from the original and has sadly lost its charm. It’s now about the money, not the wine. The pours on the tastings are tiny (current price $25). Very sad to see such a lovely winery change so dramatically. Having said that the new building is nice and the staff were friendly.

First time visiting the new Cellar Door & Kitchen and it was great. The Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder was melt in mouth divine. And the Lemon Meringue Tarte presentation was exceptional.
Congratulations to the kitchen 🧑‍🍳

We visited Wooing Tree because we'd heard they produced good pinot noir. Sadly, we found all of their wines lack-lustre. But more concerning was the behaviour of the woman serving the tastings. When she heard my reply to her question of where in NZ we were from, she said, "Oh, there's a lot of crime there. We don't have that problem here because we're all middle-class whites" !!!!!!!My reply that diversity is a good thing in my experience launched her off on a tirade about all the things she thought were wrong with parenting and the school system. She certainly is a detriment to her employer.

Our hosts, while busy, were very friendly and we enjoyed our tasting. We had a charcuterie and cheese board. It was nice to meet the other guests and I was able to chat with the staff a bit. A fine time.

Staying nearby so just had to do a bit of wine tasting and this place was recommended. Did some tasting with a very knowledgeable young man and stayed for lunch which was excellent, served with one of the wines. Lovely surroundings
