Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I could not believe I made a knife. The finished knife looked amazing. It did require Steve's magic touch but I actually did some of the work. My husband and I very much enjoyed the all day activity. Highly recommend.

Absolutely bloody fantastic day today! We were treated to the pleasure of the skills of Steven and Robyn. They welcomed us into their home, forging our own knives. Feed us lunch and endless supply of humour! Highly recommend it to you all 🔪🤗🥰

Create your own knife! If you can stand Steven's mildly offensive sense of humour (jokes about Australians or Aucklanders for example), this is a great day's activity.

Making a knife with Steven and Robyn is as about as much fun and as fundamentally rewarding as a day out could be. How often do you get to forge your knife in a roaring forge, hammer it repeatedly from iron to steel, create the handle, grind (serious work) and polish the blade, shape and stain and finish the handle? So well organised and fun all the time.

We came, we made, we sat around, we sat around some more, we waited and we finished.
I love my knife but ten people were too many in the group. Lots of waiting around. And we didnt do so much of the process - lots of the shaping, grinding, finishing was all done by steven.
its a great experience, but a long day with lots of waiting

Such a fun day spent with Steven and Robyn. Learning how to create a knife from scratch and being involved from start to finish was awesome.

A birthday gift for my adult son, which I decided to join him. We had a great day. Starting at 9.30 am we made knives from scratch. Robyn and Steven were great hosts and helped us at every stage of the procedures. Lunch was extremely tasty with some time out to do axe throwing, use the big swing or just wander around and relax. The drinks and nibbles at the end, finished the day nicely. I have since shown our knives to many people who were impressed and have said they will be going to do this at some stage.

I was nervous about making a knife. My nerves disappeared straight away after meeting Steven & Robyn. Their laidback style and approach put me at ease. It was an awesome day. I ended up making a great knife I am proud of and also made new friends.
I would definitely go back and make another one or just listen to Steven's stories.
5/5, A+ experience.

A fantastic day with hosts Robyn and Steve , definitely make the knife from scratch and get a wonderful knife to take home . Only 3 in our group which was great but meant you got to hear all the jokes Steve had in his repertoire. Some very funny some not lol. Would highly recommend for anyone, young or old. Lunch provided with a beer to finish the day .
