The tour is quite short time-wise for the cost of it, but you get to see something that is very interesting and historic. We are glad that we did it.

We visited this site out of curiosity, after driving passed what appeared to be rather a Disneyesque building positioned on the top of the hill, on our way into Comillas. A very helpful young lady in the tourist information office identified it as the Universidad...More

The Puerta de la Universidad Pontifica is a very beautiful and unusual gate at the bottom of the hill. It mixes brick and ceramics to create the gate. At the top one can see the coat of arms of the school.

The Universidad Pontificia sits on top of the La Cardosa Hill. This was where Antonio Lopez, the Marques de Comillas, wanted to train and educate young priests from poor families. The education would be done under the Jesuits. The first stone was laid on May...More

The university is up a hill, but do look for the main door down on the road because it's a nice, fine work of Gaudí-like architecture. It reminded me of Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to visit the university...More
