About
Marine Biology and Sustainability As Marine Biologists our main goal is to organize eco-friendly experiences that promote the well-being of the families who come with us, interfering as little as possible with the surrounding ecossystems. We believe that the first step for Nature Conservation is to connect people with the environment. For most of us the ocean is just a blue layer, but once we are able to see through it our perception changes forever. We will always try to preserve what we love. It's fascinating to create this bridge between the ocean and everyone who wants to explore the Algarve. You're welcome to join us! Inês and Pedro

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We were picked up from our hotel in Praia da Rocha (extra 3euro per person) and driven to Ferrugado where we changed onto wetsuits. Taken to snorkelling location where we kitted up. The waves were a bit strong initally but once you got used to it and away from the shore it was ok. I has a bit of trouble to start with - I wasn't holding the mouthpiece properly but Pedro was very patient and I caught up with the others easily. We swam into a cave which was amazing then swam round a large rock - saw lots of fish and a starfish. The water was cold if you stopped moving - we were initally offered head covers for the wetsuits but no-one took them but then one person said they would and everyone else did as well. If the guides wear them it is probably an indication that you should as well! We swam back to shore and had a picnic ( fruit and cheese and biscuits and water) in the sun. Then back to Ferrugado then Portimao. Ines and Pedro were lovely people and knew their stuff. They made us feel very welcome - like old friends rather then people they had just met. They emailed a whole heap of pictures to us after the trip.
If I go back to the Algarve I would definitely book again.

What an amazing day this was! We are now a week back in NYC (two weeks since our amazing tour) and we cannot get this snorkeling/hiking/hidden caves experience out of our minds! We met the van in the square in Ferragudo-only steps from our Air BnB-and picked up the rest of the party (limited to 8 which made a perfectly intimate tour!) We were then quickly outfitted with wet suits and water shoes, and headed to the beach. After leaving our personal belongings and grabbing fins and goggles, we were OFF!

After short, easy (stunning) hike over the cliffs, and then down to a hidden beach, we suited up and were on our way! I chose this tour because I wanted to face my fear of snorkeling and being vulnerable to sea life...Also to discover some more "untouched" parts of the Algarve coast in a purer way. I have to say: these goals were satisfied on ALL FRONTS.

This company absolutely LOVES what they do; and that love is infectious. We always felt safe. At one point, we were given the option to take a dive under some rock into the hidden alcove--or simply follow our other guide around the other way around. It was nice to be as risky or timid as you wanted to be (but I would definitely recommend the risky route!!) :)

Hours exploring the ocean through a snorkel with buoyant wet suits and fins left me feeling serene and "one with the ocean". We were both encouraged along the swim path and also allowed to explore areas we found interesting. Our lead guide pulled up a sea cucumber at one point, and let us touch it, which delighted the two little boys in our group! We saw a stingray burying itself in sand; cuddlefish, sardines in droves; and tons of other sea life..!

A day later, we had a ton of GoPro photos in our email--What a fully delivered tourist experience! We feel very lucky to have found Zip & Trip, and you will be glad you chose them too!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! INCREDIBLE VALUE!! AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!

I have just returned from the best snorkelling trip ever. (Monday 25th June)
Pedro and Ines, (our guides for today) arranged a pickup from my hotel in Portimao, once our wetsuits had been collected, we drove to the beach in Alvor. We were shown how to use the equipment, and how best to swim in the sea so as not to disturb the wildlife and encourage the fish to swim close to you. Both Pedro and Ines are Marine Biologist, their knowledge of the wildlife, marine life, and environment was incredible, from explaining the colours of the rocks to why the cuttlefishfish had bitesize chuncks taken out of them,! Snorkelling into many caves, with breathtaking structures was a magical experience, the calmness of the sea, the sunshine and the desserted coves made this a snorkelling trip to remember. Once we returned to the beach, we had a picnic of local cheese, fruit and crackers. Fabulous. If I re visit the Algarve I would definitely search out Pedro and Ines and snorkel with them again.

The photo's taken on the trip of the scenery and of us snorkelling are going to be emailed to us so we can remember this fantastic day.

Book with Zip & Trip, you will not be disappointed.

We had a great time! Asked to get picked up from a different location as our hotel was quite far away. It was 3€ each which is nothing really ! Me and my friend were the only ones for the tour so we got quite a private session. It was incredible experience, learned a lot and had a fun swim into a cave that had a majestic view. The sea was after a storm and water was quite sandy so it was hard to see further in the water , but we enjoyed it regardless.

Today my daughter and I went snorkelling near Alvor with Pedro and Kenneth. It was a great experience visiting beautiful quiet caves. We saw crabs, slugs, and even a cuttlefish. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our snorkeling and cave crossing tour with Zip & Trip. It was the first time for us to go snorkeling, but that was no problem at all. The guides were not only super friendly and helpful, they also took the extra time for us when we had some problems or additional questions. We felt save at all times! I would say that this trip will be enjoyed by people from all Fitness levels and ages. The guides not only knew their stuff about snorkeling, but were also very knowledgeable about fauna and flora. We saw a lot of interesting fish and got lots of information about the caves.
All in all, I highly recommend this trip! You will explore places, you would probably otherwise not find and, most importantly, you will do this with great guides who create a safe and convivial atmosphere. Thank you very much for the great day!

We decided to use the opportunity during our stay in Alvor on 26 of June. And we should have done it earlier, because it was the last day of our vacation. The tour was simply amazing and we regret not being able to do at least one more adventure with our guides Ines and Pedro.

We were lucky to have perfect sunny day, so the water was crystal clear. Three hours of our adventure were perfecly planned. We got all the necessary equipment, drove to the beach and went snorkeling along the cost and in the caves. It was our first snorkeling experience and it went smooth and easy as Ines and Pedro provided all possible assistance and support. We visited caves, enjoyed the views of the underwater oceanlife and as a cherry on top of all of it was the picnic with local tasties.

Strongly recommended!!!!

We had a great time snorkling! Kenneth and Pedro were really nice guys. They showed us around and inside the caves. All equipment was arranged including a great picknick. We thought it would not be possible to go snorkling at the beginning of november. But with wetsuits it wasn’t cold. And they told us you could go snorkling all year around. We would definetly recommend zip and trip!

Today we went to caneiros beach with kennet and Pedro. They were very patient and explained everything what we should be aware of. We visited a beautiful cave by swimming into it. After snorkeling we went to the beach again and had an unexpected and very nice Picknick. Pedro and Kennet had a lot to tell about their diving experiences. We can really recommend the tour!
