The story of Romeo and Julieta was real and you will find all the details betwen this walls. A must is the guided visit because the story of the original writer is very interesting.

Two great Roman castles. The view from the top is awesome. The surrounding area is great for a family picnic or you can settle at the adjacent castle where there’s a romantic restaurant. There’s a church that’s so sacred and could form a great host to a beautiful wedding.

Another lovely castle to visit

Contrary to popular local legend, this castle has NOTHING to do with either Romeo or Juliet. These two castles, Castello della Villa/Castle of the Villa (Romeo's) and Castello della Bellaguardia (Juliet's) are hold strategic positions over the valley, one looks over one side, the other looks over the other side and they overlap in the middle. The idea was that if an attack came on one side, they would warn the other castle and take appropriate action. They are both lovely locations. Romeo's has an outdoor theater which shows movies and concerts as well as theater during the summer (bring mosquito repellent, and a tower where you can climb up to the top terrace with gorgeous views. It has a Docent named Francesco who is an amazing storyteller, he knows so much about the area, having grown up there, unfortunately he doesn't speak English, but don't let that stop you from visiting. There is a nominal fee for climbing the tower, often there are photos from the Medieval Festivals they hold there. When you are done here, walk up to Juliet's Castle and have a cup of coffee or a cold drink. Make sure you take a photo of Romeo's Castle from Juliet's so you can see just how close they are to one another. There are also hiking trails all around the hills, one begins to the right of Romeo's, they are marked with signs and often have other signs telling you what kinds of plants, birds and other wildlife you might see. Don't miss it.

Im pretty often visiting this castle. I've wedding foto facing castello di Romeo. Some occasion they do open house for public and can enter for free to see the inside of the castle and climb top to the castle. From there you can see 360 degrees of the beautiful city surrounding. And the best of the best are have a great summer season open Cinema just for €5.

Castles...castles

At the tail end of a winery and wonderful lunch of Faggitinni we stopped at the Romeo and Juliet outdoor theater and restaurant. It is two castles on separate hills. Much of the theater is under reconstruction but both are great to look at and the restaurant castle has a great view of the surrounding countryside. Catching a show there would be outstanding.

Beautiful walk to the castle through the mountain trail. It is worth doing this walk through the splendid view. It does not require great physical preparation and even adventurous spirit

You have to trigger your imagination to take the best of the place. Landscape is the best, neighbour Giulietta castle helps the romantic atmosphere. Don't miss
