We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s a long and steep climb and didn’t find it worth it as it’s about the stonemason rather than the church

I've given the church an 'Average ' rating because we couldn't get in it. I think it's only open on Sundays and perhaps major festivals. You can get there by car but this is a pilgrimage church and the preferred experience is to take the very steep footpath, punctuated at interval by the stations of the cross. There are good views from the summit but you need access to the church garden for the best ones.

This church has great views of the Rhine River as well as the inside of the church is beautiful. The people are very friendly. Nice hike up the hill to the church. This was once a site when Rome occupied the area. The church was built in the 1800s.

This quaint church has an admirable view of the Rhine River. The church's architecture is quite similar to the Dome in Köln. It also has a spacious garden and a lovely grotto. My only regret is that there isn't an English mass I could've attended.

Getting to the church by foot is a long up hill jaunt but well worth it. The interior is painted throughout and is wonderfully maintained
There is ample parking and wonderful views. There is a small vineyard at the side and a small garden which is only open on Sundays.

St. Apollonaris is perhaps the second best tourist destination in Remagen (only surpassed by the Peace Museum at the former Ludendorff Bridge). Visitors may park at the bottom of the hill and follow the 12 Stations of the Cross or park closer to the church itself for a shorter walk. The church has a Byzantine feel unlike most German cathedrals and offers self guided tours. The grounds include two unique monuments with mosaics made from local river rocks. The cathedral is also at the start of several trail heads through the adjoining forest. A must see in Remagen.
