Fairy doors Hanmer.

Heard about this place. Had to visit.
Nice flat walk on a mild day.
No one around.
Some bright ideas from the little ones.
Some doors needs maintanance.
Good work little ones.

A bit confusing

Had been recommended to go on this walk by a friend. Took a bit of time to find access and then ended up going the wrong way round the walk and had to go onto road to get back to car. Carvings were very creative.

I thoroughly enjoyed my walk through here today. I did it twice too as I wanted to just see more. Loved the fairy doors and the peace and quiet of the walk. Nature is wonderful

Great little walk. Flat and easy and all the fairy houses really do keep the kids going. Head straight over the first bridge you see from the car entrance

For the kiddies

Easy 15min walk through a shaded forest alongside a running stream. I found the walk a little tacky but I guess I’m not the target audience. The kids enjoyed it a lot more. Most of the Fairy houses were faded and in disrepair - even though many had only been installed within the last 12 months. The kids enjoyed reading some of the messages left hidden behind the fairy doors.

Put on insect repellent- there are sandflies along the walk.

this was wasn't at all like i was expecting. Promotional material depicted fairy houses along the way, I found 2 on the same tree throughout the whole walk. Very disappointing

Easy, flat walk following the stream. After a lot of rain the stream gets a lot more force behind it though!

Just a bit wet and slippery

We like walking but this was just a bit wet and slippery after the big rain we had in Canterbury , but usually a nice walk

A shady place on a hot day - dog and people friendly

Restful location quite close to town; great for those traveling with dogs. Offers toilet facilities and picnic tables.

Nice Winter Walk

A great little track if you want a break from food and the hot pools. You can't beat a bit of exercise and this is a lovely wee walk to do. Very easy and great for families.
