Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You could easily drive past this location and not even know that the lake is there, hidden as it is by a steep slope and surrounding trees. Happily there is an easier point of entrance where you can leave a car and enjoy the walk. There are lots of things to see depending on the time of year. Visiting at the end of October the signs of early spring were all around us. The photographs speak for themselves. It is possible to walk around the lake in about 40 minutes but it is worth taking the time to simply enjoy the colours and the bird life on the lake. Remember to bring your camera.

We had a takeaway meal of fish and chips around here..then a walk around the lake and up the steps to have a look at the new shops at the top. What a lovely evening..a number of folk were walking and families enjoying this lovely setting. A local treat.

A hidden lake (at the bottom of a crater, like bush area) in the heart of the town, we would never have found it had it not been for google, the best access for us was via albert st, where there is plenty of parking and it is essentially flat, access from any where else involves lots of steps, there are plenty o walking tracks however, the 1k, loop around the lake is flat and perfect for us, there is also plenty of seating and picnic tables, (a hang out for locals during lunch), it is easy to spend an hour or more here,(there are also public toilets at the carpark). Definitely worth a visit, you wont be disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyable place to visit - good flat walking, plenty of greenery and trees, wildlife, just a fantastic place to go for a walk.

This is a beautiful lake with lovely walks around it, right in the centre of Cambridge. Such a pretty place for family picnics, clean toilets available and lots of parking from one end. Access from town end is through big ornamental steel gates opposite the white church. Very beautiful place.

Depending on my time limit, walking around Lake Te Koutu is a beautiful esperience whatever time of the year.. right now the leaves are changing colour and the camelia walk is as pretty as a picture, in spring time the vivid grreens are spectacular, The small lake is picturesque. Take one of the tracks up to the top to find an exercise park, childrens play area, the begonia house, bowling grees and Good Union for a cold beer or hot coffee

I go over here at least twice a year to photograph reflections of leaves in the lake. The water is brackish and so the reflections are quite unusual. Clear and sort of sinister. I have a long association with this lake because I went to St Peters Catholic Primary school and the nuns would take us down there frequently for nature study. In those days it was an overgrown wilderness full of dragon flies and frogs. It's a shortish easy walk and has been well developed and planted by people who have a passion for old English trees. The elms are especially magnificent.
