Based on the Palace of Versailles but I preferred Herrenchiemsee. Beautiful fountains. Twenty minute journey across a lake. Fifteen minute walk from boat to castle but there are horse-drawn carriages to hire. Excellent guide who spoke loud enough for a large group to hear him.

Sorry, not sure. We went in November and had no issues. The tours move at a very controlled pace and there is no "free range" opportunities. We've been to each of Ludwigs' castles and never had an inordinate wait time. Keep... More

I am sorry but I arrived by car and don’t know the answer. I do not recall seeing something obvious but, my suggestion , how about you call a local hotel and ask them?
