Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came here on Saturday for a breath of fresh air and a stroll. The views were lovely and the area was superb for a brisk walk along the "beach"

Took the family here whilst camping in France. We came to crotoy on the train. The weather was good and the sands went on for miles. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained, building sand castles, finding crabs in the pools and paddling in the waters. This is a cheap day out but worth while. Just take a picnic.

Promenade en Baie offer a variety of tours of the fascinating estuary of the Somme, a unique environment created by the interaction of marine tides and freshwater currents. It's a beautiful and varied place but the tides are dangerous, so a guide is essential.

We've taken two trips with this company, one seal spotting at Le Hourdel and one "traversee" which takes you across the bay to St Valery. The second time we completely missed the rendezvous but they let us book on a later trip, no problems.

Of the two I recommend the traversee as it's more of an adventure but with plenty to see along the way. You'll feel a real sense of achievement as you climb out of the bay on the other side and it can be combined with a trip on the Baie's charming steam railway.

NB the commentary is in French so unless your comprehension is very good you might want to bone up a bit beforehand
If taking small children on the traversee, there is no bailout option, so make sure they are up for it.
