The strange thing was for a place to have such rich history and for a museum to be so uninformative. We usually visit archeological and ethnographic museums whenever we travel. Thracian history holds a lot of mysteries, and on this visit, we hoped to get...More

For a new museum with interesting and stunning artefacts it was befuddling. Signage is in Bulgarian obviously but also a little French and a smattering of English. It is all very low down so for an able bodied or elderly person it is difficult to...More

We were disappointed as there were not much information about the artifacts in English, which would have made it more enjoyable for us.

If you have any interest in history, archaeology etc., this museum is well worth a visit. It is quite small but more than you would expect for such a small city.

The archaeological museum is rather small, but still there are a lot of artifacts from the distant past of the town. However, Sozopol is one of the oldest towns on the Black Sea coast and in Bulgaria for that matter, and there should be more...More

Town, shops and market ok. Museum was small and only geared up for French tourists and locals. Which means after you’ve seen one piece of ceramic you’ve seen it all. Not recommended.
