The Northern Tower is a part of the fortress walls where the ancient port of Sozopol was situated. The northern walls are not as impressive as the southern walls which have been recently renovated but the views here are wilder and charming in their own way. The coast is as steep and rocky as everywhere around the Old Town of Sozopol but the views of the islands of St Ivan and St Peter is what I liked best. There are 2 boards at the gate giving very brief information about it.

enter the gate and try to find the way to reach the steps, not far away
it worth to walk around, nice pics could be taken
the sea is a little bit nervous, the sea fights with the rocks
also, the view is so nice; this old town is a poetry
could you imagine the guys from older times, walking around?

Great strategic location - no wonder why the tower was built there. There are only remains of the structure, including the gate. Explanation is short - it's dating back to second half of 6th century and was a section of fortress walls. It's just standing by the sea, free to visit.

Lots of boats pass by this portion of the coast. There is a beautiful rose garden just above this section of the wall.

The gate was part of the town's fortification and it was discovered a few years ago, believed to be right above an ancient port. Unfortunately, there is not a lot information about the site, but it's worth visiting even for the photo opportunities.

...so, yes, it is an old wall. But there is no information to it, it's history or anything to separate it from any old brick wall you come across back home.

The southern wall has been recently renovated and you can walk along it, by the sea. They have restored one tower and made it accessible too, with info inside and disabled toilets. Overall, I wouldn't like to push anyone round this part of the city, due to the need to share space with cars, trees and cobbles. But if you are good on your feet, well worth a stroll. We saw no signs to the wall but by keeping right as you enter the old town you will find it besides the sea

If you like to enjoy the sea view, go to the Northern Tower and just watch over the sea and the island.
I love the spirit and the views in the Old Town in Sozopol and totally recommend it to everyone.
However, when it comes to the Ancient walls, there is not so much to see.
