We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What has happened to Victoria St., Richmond. This used to be one of my favourite places to visit; great food, great shopping, wonderful atmosphere of business and it felt like being in Vietnam. Today, I went for the first time in about 10 years . I have been living interstate. I couldn't believe how dead it was. Most of the shops are closed and boarded up. There were very few people around. The restaurant we went to only had one other customer in it and the food was awful. What has happened here ? is this the result of covid?. Have the rents gone up and no-one can afford to run a business there anymore . Wehre have the locals gone ?

Victoria Street is known as "Little Saigon." It is the heart of Richmond's Vietnamese community. Other centers of Vietnamese culture are Footscray and Springvale. Following the end of the Vietnam War, many Vietnamese refugees emigrated to Australia. Richmond's Vietnamese community has flourished. There are always restaurants offering Vietnamese cuisine in Victoria Street.

The wife of my best friend is Vietnamese. We would often go to Victoria Street for lunch. As for for lunch in Victoria St, his only complaint was that parking is tight. Victoria St has the best pho in Melbourne. These low-budget restaurants are often packed. By the way, if you are harassed by low-lifes, ignore them, and never, ever give them money, it only encourages them.

It used to be a good spot for Asian Groceries and good Vietnamese food. Nowadays more and more shops are closed and there are plenty of drug dealers and users around. They hassle people, shoppers and even people on public transport.

I would avoid this area. Try Footscray and Springdale for Vietnamese food.

After two decades of Melbourne eating, if I feel like Vietnamese food there’s two main choices: inner east Victoria Street Richmond or inner west Barkly Street Footscray. Either are wonderful and some popular restaurants have survived with loyal custom. Victoria Street has more socio-economic and drug visible issues but remains safe. I still bring my kids there as the food and hospitality of the area over-rides any “could see something uncomfortable” concern which rarely occurs.

If you like Vietnamese food you will be in your glory. There are dozens to choose from. I think I would recommend Minh Tan 11 (2). There are vietnamese grocery, butchers, fish outlets, hair dressers, bars etc. I have lived in Richmond for near on 30 years and find it delightful to walk Victoria St.
As a lot of areas they also have there drug problems but I have never been approached. I find it safe, just as anywhere you go look after all your belongs,

I have llived and worked around here for over thirty years. Victoria St has been fantastic for eating and shopping. In the past six months it has gone into a death spiral. The Labor government imposed a medically supervised injecting room - right next to a school and community heath centre - knowing this is a totally safe seat and they can win votes statewide at the expense of the locals who opposed it.
This brought the dealers and they brought the junkies. The street is now empty of everyone but locals and psychotic, staggering, filthy and aggressive drug users. Restaurants are closing down. The whole place is dying. Well done Labor.

This street offers a great variety of Asian, especially Vietnamese food outlets. The street is very busy and extremely popular for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The only activity that has gone against this street is the drug problem. You can see dealings going on day and night on the street in front of everyone.

Could be a good place City of Yarra cleaned it up and got rid of the drug addicts who loiter and deal near Victoria and Lennox / Nicholson Streets.
If you want heroin this is where to go.
