Friendly staff at Kiosk, great views out to sea
Sep 2021
Stopped for a coffee at the Kiosk, staff were delightful, friendly, professional. Very reasonably priced, and great views across the beach out to sea. A lovely cove.

There are toilets on site too.

Surfers are annoying but good beach
Aug 2021 • Family
The beach is really nice, the only downfall were the surfers. We were constantly told to move away from them spoiling the kids fun. They should have their designated area to learn surfing. Overall it's a good sandy beach to visit. The beach has its own parking so don't park anywhere else. It's £5 something for the whole day!

Lovely beach

Lovely Sandy beach. Fossils can be found in the chalk cliffs. Didn’t go onto the beach as no dogs allowed.

Delightful find
Aug 2021 • Family
What a find this was!
Such a great beach for families, clean & unspoilt with a small cafe, lifeguards on duty & a small hire shop for deckchairs etc
We spent a few days on this beach with children from 4-13yrs, they loved it!
Loved the area, people were friendly & easy to park as there are several car parks nearby.
We will certainly return, just as good if not better than the likes of Devon/Somerset/Cornwall without all the crowds, extortionate prices of accommodation & travelling distance.

Fabulous Family Friendly Day out
Jul 2021 • Family
Excellent family friendly beach! Plenty of parking in a field directly opposite at a cost of £5 for the day. Only issue was the insanely long queues for food, drinks and ice-creams!

A fine sandy beach in a sheltered bay.
Jun 2021
We passed Joss Bay whilst walking a section of the Viking Coastal Trail between Margate and Broadstairs. The bay has a fine sandy beach with both a café and toilet facilities. There is a good sized (pay & display) car park nearby but we imagine that this gets very busy on a sunny day. There was an operating lifeguard station at the time of our visit (early afternoon on a weekday) and the beach had a good number of people enjoying the June sunshine. As if to enhance the seaside atmosphere, the picturesque North Foreland light house can be seen higher up the cliffs from the car park.

Beware the seagulls
Jun 2021 • Couples
Lovely sandy beach with nearby car parking toilets and a beach cafe. Chairs & windbreaks are available for hire and there is a lifeguard station.
Ideal for families but... beware the seagulls! There are lots of them and if anyone opens a picnic the word gets out and they flock round . Lady next to us had a sandwich grabbed from her hand and another family were harassed & the dad had to stand up & keeps guard.

Lovely clean beach
Jun 2021 • Family
Had a wonderful day at Joss Bay on Sunday. The is a small car park on the cliff by the entrance and in the road but we parked in the field across the road for £5 for the whole day.

There are either steps or steep slope going down to the bay. A kiosk at the too of the slope selling ice creams and toilets half way down the slope (not used by us but there were queues for them). At the bottom of the slope there is a small shop and cafe, a deck chair hire hut and bouncy castle/slides.

The beach is very clean and you need to take your own rubbish away with you (buns in the car parks). The sand was soft, deep and definitely puts a smile on your face 😁

As we visited on one of the hottest days after lockdown we were expecting quite a few people, but chose here as didn't think it would be as busy as Margate and Ramsgate. We were wrong! The beach was packed!. We arrived early so found an area, suitably distanced from others and "set up". Then went to play in the sea leaving bucket and spade out so people knew I had children with me in case they didn't want to be around kids.

We did spend a long time in the sea (freezing and recommend wetsuits) swimming and playing. Attentive lifeguards and sporadic lifeguard update warnings. When we went back to our "pitch" was totally shocked about the amount of people that arrived. On both sides of us people had arrived and sat right next to us. One side even moving my wind break I put up to create shade so they could get closer and crowd in the small gap they chose between us and our then neighbour!!! And in front of us about 1 m away someone put up a tent and windbreak so all we could see was them and my boys had no real space to play. Boys being boys played in the sand by our blanket and the people next to us moaned about it, although I did remind them we are still in covid times and they should move away from us (they did a bit as didn't think kids should play in the sand?????)

Anyway apart from some silly people who have forgot about covid rules the beach is fabulous. Attentive lifeguards, police came down a few time too (not sure if this is normal but boys loved it!) And it is very clean.

I did notice a few people were having BBQs. Not sure if you are allowed or not but when I come back here I will check and if we can will do the same.

Fabulous day and highly recommend (but keep your distance from others!)
