Lovely garden type of walk around, with beautiful water springs and waterfalls, with such amazing greenery and pretty foliage. Not something children would find entertaining, but for adults, it's a relaxing, colourful walk.

This is a really nice, if relatively small, park. There are lots of ponds fed from the natural springs and they are teeming with wildlife. I actually saw newts for the first time in years!

Lovely gardens in Matlock bath. Perfect to get away from the busy promenade and enjoy the ponds and the two parks either side of the river. Toilets are not very nice, smelly council toilets. Park on the far side of the river is a sandpit...More

Travelled to see Matlock illuminations and wasn't disappointed. The security staff around the park were very helpful and polite. The boats were impressive and the fire and glow show amazing.

We arrived in Matlock Bath early so had a very pleasant stroll through Derwent Gardens while it was quiet. Lovely walking area with benches and there is a small pond and fountain that looked lovely in the morning sunlight. Can get busy and there is...More

There is no admission charge, except in October when they turn the lights on, they have a bit of a dooo. Dogs are very welcome indeed.

No admission charge most of the year, only time you have to pay to get into the gardens is in the evenings when the illuminations are on, and it all goes to local charity, I think this is at the end of October. Rest of the... More
