Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We rented with confidence on the Odalys site because we were never disappointed with their services.
But there, what a catastrophe!!
Maisonette Villinis B 4/6 people, so where do I start?
1- no air conditioning it is 28 ° in the cottage of 50m2
2- cool the cottage leaving the windows open at night = impossible because too much noise and watch out for ruthless mosquitoes or wild boars (I'm not laughing, I know the difference with my wife!!!)
3- car for everything and do not expect to find room easily to park... 29€ fine illico presto (it fits with the Italians for the shot!)

ESCAPE POOR CRAZY!!

Pretty but only one beach difficult to reach on foot by a steep path but you have to find a parking space.... the parking is full at 9:30 in the morning!!!! Note that many accommodations are quite distant in distance but especially in altitude. If you are 1 Km as the crow flies from the car park, allow 30 minutes to reach it then 20 minutes to go to the beach by the steep path
Don’t park where it’s forbidden because otherwise fine
As you can't park, you can drive 20 minutes to another beach: isola rossa or pond vinegar...
Very few shops while this place is quite isolated.
Very disappointed with everything I saw in Sardinia

This is our first trip to Sardinia. We booked a villa within a place called Costa Paradiso. We initially thought this was the name of the town but upon arrival we discovered that this is a community consisting of privately owned villas that blends in to the landscape. The area is vast and extensive.
There is a security office at the entrance with gates. It made you feel secure and the resort private.
Within the resort, there is a supermarket, green grocer, bakery, fish shop, bars, take away and a number of restaurants. The resort is very hilly. You need a car to get around. We tend to take a quick 5 minutes drive to the bakery each morning for our breakfast. The local supermarket is well stocked and is perfectly fine but for a bigger shop, it may be better value to go to one of the bigger supermarkets 20 minutes away.
The restaurants onsite are nice, we visited 2 of them. There are also different places to buy their lovely Italian ice cream. They are all nice but slightly different so it is worth trying different ones. You can decide which one you like most. We enjoyed having our ice cream at the bar below the Maya restaurant. They have tables that overlook the sea so you can chill and enjoy the sunset after dinner.
One thing that is worth pointing out is that the locals tend to have dinner quite late. The restaurants do not open in the evening till 7:30pm.
There is a small beach but that is a 10 minutes walk from the car park. The walk is quite tiring in the heat. The beach seems to be split into 2 half. One part where you lay on your own towels (where the sand is course) and then other that is next to the bar and you can hire loungers from (where the sand is soft). Once you are in the water, it did not make that much difference.
If you do not fancy the walk, there are other small beaches with big pebbles and boulders. There are big rocks you can climb on and jump off from. It is most unusual and fun. The alternative, is to drive to a local beach that is a bit bigger but very busy.
Prior to our trip, I did look for boat trips and things. But upon arrival, we discovered that you can hire a boat for the day onsite. It was fantastic. You have freedom to explore. I would highly recommend it.
See our separate reviews on the restaurants, the villa that we stayed in and the boat hire.
If you find this useful, please click on the helpful vote. Thanks.

Hello from Sardinia,
everybody knows Costa Smeralda, but I think this coast is even much better! The name says it all"! Costa Paradiso!, Paradise Coast!
It's surely one of the most beautiful and ppitturesque coasts with cosy sandy beaches here in Northern Sardinia.
I LIVE not very far away from it here on Sardinia and can recommend a daytrip.
Rent a "gommone", a rubber boat, if the weather allows it, and you will never forget the breathtaking views! You will find natural, lonesome beaches even during high season.
Whoever would like to visit Northern Sardegna, feel free to contact me for any info you need, also for accommodation tipps!
Greetings from Sabrina,
the German lady in Sardinia

The local area consists of four smallish beaches/coves and surrounding low (1 or 2 story) houses built to blend into the similarly coloured rock.

The landscape is littered with seriously impressive weirdly shaped red/orange sandstone-like rocks/hills/mountains that seem to have been sculptured by the wind over hundreds/thousands of years. Rockscapes with holes, twists, and peppered with indentations, towering over you.

The largest local sandy beach/cove is the most popular, and can get packed with people at the beginning of July. To get there go to the end of the harbour car park to a path. It’s about a 10 minute scenic walk quite close to the rocky edge, and it’s not a flat walk. When you get to the beach I suggest you hire a boat/pedalo (15e/hour) and feel your way around lots of small rocky islands away from everyone. Beautifully quiet, safe and full or dramatic outcrops, clear turquoise water, fish etc. We did it – twice.

The other coves hardly get other people going there. In early July we regularly had one of the 3 coves to ourselves from about 3pm. Sheltered, close to the “Maya” restaurant and perfect for children to explore and swim in quiet water (hardly any waves). But beware of the occasional spiky sea-urchin in the rocks in the water – they hurt. The coves are full of rocks, but with a lot less sand. However, again dramatic especially as the sun sets between the island outcrops. Viewable from the beach, think of silhouettes of rocky islands with the 9pm sunset reflecting off a calm sea between them, and you get the picture. We couldn’t fail to take stunning pictures – like from postcards. Google “Costa Paradiso beaches” and you get the idea. Other beaches are about 10km away, but we didn’t go to them - no need.

The village/town is obviously built for tourism, with little/no original culture remaining. But if it’s relaxation you want, you’ll get it, with temperatures hitting 42 degrees each day we were there (first week in July). I suspect that later in July there would be lot more people.

I wouldn’t suggest you stay for more than one week unless you are prepared to tour around in the car as there isn’t much going on in the town. 3 smallish supermarkets, 2 restaurants (“Maya” is best – hire a table closest to the sea and see the sunset over the water – WOW), one nightclub and few small shops. A car is a must as the roads have few paths, are steep with tight turns. Coupled with the heat, you won’t want to walk much. There are enough parking spaces around.

I got bitten a couple of times by insects but well after sunset and outside, I don’t think by mosquitoes though – I didn’t use insect spray. Don’t leave food out overnight - the ants will find them in your house and you’ll get a long line of them in the morning up onto your table – be warned .

People completely ignore the speed limits on the main roads. Be prepared to see the odd tortoise in the middle of the road! And the small wild boar (in families) really do roam around the town in the evenings.

Don’t internet hire a car from the cheapest car hire place (Dollar, etc) at the airport because it took over 2 hours to get to the car due to the queue to the desk – honest – not a good start to the holiday. Spend 20e more and get one straight away rather than wasting your time in the heat.

Anyway, soak it up, relax, swim, and have fun. Very memorable.

First time in Sardinia and was frankly bit nervous that it would be too busy, too touristy and not very pretty. How wrong was I. This part of Sardinia was stunning! The rocks, the villas that are cleverly nested into the rocks so to keep the view, the food, the wine... all lovely. We were met by our host and shown around the resort which was invaluable to get us settled in. And our villa was top top notch. All mod cons (including air con!), private and the view was amazing. Normally we would eat out every night but we ended up cooking just so we could savour the sunsets over the sea every night. Couldn't fault anything about our villa or the resoirt.. We will be back.

The walk was picturesque, the beach was pretty but crowded. Parking is a real problem. Restaurants are very expensive.
