Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This beach is dirty. Bird poop everywhere. Definitely not worth the $50 parking. If you can go anywhere else GO.

The cost to gain entrance in August 2021 was $20 for non residents with identification. Youths under twelve pay a slightly different cost.

The beach is clean. The patrons friendly and real beach lovers. I definately suggest a visit...my girl and I had a blast!

It's a whopping $50 per car to park there now! The beach is small and eroded which makes it very crowded.
The parking lot fills up very quickly on hot summer days. Especially on weekends. If you park on the local streets or in the school parking lot you risk a ticket and a tow.

You're better off at Jones Beach. Much much better!

My only issue is that if you are not a resident your parking fee is $50 per car, we actually went to the pool area we had the pool pretty much to ourselves also there is a pool fee as well $7.50 per adults. i guess the fee keep most people away and that why they are charge so much so that it will keep crowds away, no food or drinks allowed.

The southern shores as I call it
Soft white sand & private beaches. Just 1 mile east of Long Beach, where the amazing boardwalk is and a luxury boutique hotel ocean view

Last year the fee was $20 a car non resident and within a year they raised it $30 so now it's a steep $50 a car, quite the steep climb suddenly and for what? Coming and finding a mound of garbage overflowing from a garbage can to which trailed onto the sand. So unless you're planning on spending the entire day there with a group of people enough to fit a whole car, it's not worth making the trip.

I love this beach because of the white sand and clean beach... a pool by the parking lot and not too crowded place to go...

the beach in Lido is never crowded. I think some reviewers are confusing it's beach with Town of Hempstead beaches which are adjacent. Lido has a stunning beach and also a beautiful walkway with many hibiscus and beach grasses on its dunes. it is a great place to rent by the month.

Arrive early and avoid the crowds. Also a lovely beach in fringe season like May/September. The sand is nicer than other beaches in surrounding area and the restrooms are clean and stocked with toilet paper. Nice little town nearby with ice cream and restaurants.
