Once you've visited the Visitor Center, make sure you visit Tawhai Falls. Beautiful! A real gem - hidden unless you know where to find it.

It's very easy to walk and it has wonderful sceneries. We step on the rocks and it is very slippery, so you have to be careful. This falls also calls Gollums pool because it's a scene of the Lord of Rings. You can also see...More

We walked down to the Tawhai Falls on a beautiful summer day and the falls were well worth the walk. It is a well maintained track with stopping points and lookouts along the way. If you don't cope well with steps then this may not...More

A really short walk from the car parks to the falls. A really nice little area and as a Lord of the Rings fan that nostalgia of it being Gollum's Pool really makes it well worth while.

We went to Tawhai Falls (Gollums Pool) only a while in the afternoon, around 15. As it was raining, we were alone so we took a lot of good photos at the falls. When you arrive, it's only 15 minutes walking until it. If you...More

The walk to the walk was pretty easy, apart from several sets if stairs. Parking was a bit tight, as the small car park was already full early in the morning, but you can easily park on the other side of the road. The falls...More

It's a short walk but the 100 plus steps in and out are quite steep but worth it! Very pretty little falls from the top and bottom.

If you use your imagination, you can just about hear Gollum singing his song as he fishes in the pool at the bottom of the falls. Otherwise, you can enjoy the short walk to this waterfall, stand at the top, climb across the rocks at...More
