This was a short, easy walk along a well-marked path from a small gravel road side car park. We made our way down to the spectacular pool and waterfall hidden amongst the trees. We went later in the evening, and light made it even more...More

Took a 15-20 min hike to go visit this waterfall. Totally worth it too. It was gorgeous. The water was turquoise and there was even a rainbow coming off the fall. Easy walk for all ages. Made me want to swim in it. Looked like...More

Located on the road to Whakapapa village. A small roadside car park, Short walk (15-20mins) along well made path. A scenic waterfall without being spectacular. If in the area well worth visiting.

This is spectacularly pretty, very close to the road so only a 20 minute walk. As with all the marked paths we followed in NZ it was well made, maintained and signed.

A nice flat 10-minute walk, with a view of a very picturesque waterfall. Used as Gollum’s Pool in Lord of the Rings. Not much space, and you need to scramble a bit to find locations where your pictures won’t be photo-bombed. Also, the parking area...More

This is a short walk (10-15 min) to a kind of impressive waterfall that was used in the Lord of the Rings movies. There are a few sets of stairs so probably not recommended for people who have difficulty with stairs. Makes for a good...More

Not too high water falls but it is quite good and beautiful, 13-meter high waterfall located in Tongariro National Park, along the way to Whakapapa Village. Short walks from the main road approx. 15 minutes - 800m from the road. Easy walk to the look...More

I gave this 3 stars because of the bad advice given at the visitor’s center,to wit, that there were a”few stairs” and hand rails. If both of those representations were true I could have easily seen the falls. There are actually 3 sets of steep...More

It's a nice short walk to here and it offers a superb view. We went in summer so it wasn't unbearably cold! A short drive up from the iSITE and then a short walk on flat ground. You can clamber over the rocks and take...More
