Worth the $5. It is just a small petting zoo though. When we went there, the miniature munchkin had one kitten who was adorable. A lot of the animals don’t like being touched though for a petting zoo. The emu attacked me so don’t go...More

Sincere Apologies - you caught me on the hop and I couldn't accompany/guide you as normal. This tour has a minimum charge $20 for an hour for 2 people. The "home zoo" has expanded and I now have plans to set up so that it...More

We stayed 3 nights at the farm - it was amazing. A children's paradise - and rest for parents too, as the kids are so busy picking grass for the animals, exploring and climbing the wonderful 'climbing trees'. The bungalow gives great views of the...More

We spontaneously went to this farm and absolutely loved it! The animals were so cute. Also the owner is really nice and she clearly loves her animals a lot. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone coming to Waitomo!

Thank you for taking the time to review. Its a bonus that visitors now get to enjoy 9 yrs of collecting mini-animals and they (the outside family) - all know the "drill"!

Easy to find, parking on site. Friendly hosts. Comfortable quiet accommodation in house or in cottage units in garden. Miniature animals and ostriches around in adjacent fields.

Enjoyed it, although a little disorganised. We had booked at the local tourist office, and this seemed to irritate the host (presumably they get a cut), and she didn't seem to have been expecting us, which was a little bizarre, recognising we wouldn't have visited...More

You are right, the price needs to be increased to cover staff and the commissions charged, so that everyone is happy and we can be organised 100% of the time.......quite difficult on a farm! Next year, improved facilities for animal viewing will improve the organisation...More

We had the privilege of staying on site here in one of the cottages. The farm animals are very well behaved and waking up to the sounds of cows mooing was a wonderful experience (not something we get much in London, UK). The staff were...More

We were on the way to the Waitomo caves and we had about 2 hours to kill before our tour. My wife noticed a variety of animals on the way to the caves and we decided to go back to look at them through the...More

A fantastic place to visit! Our 2, 6 year olds had an amazing couple of hours. The highlight of their visit was petting 2 week old kittens and a land tortoise. Anne, your host is incredibly generous with her time, very knowledgeable and clearly loves...More

You get to see ostrich ,emu, cows, pigs, llamas, alpacas, ponies, possibly the smallest caw in the world. The animals are friendly and you get nice photo ops.
