Our tours are friendly, informative and fun. With no more than 12 people on board, raft beneath many thousands of fabulous glowworms to see them at their very best. We visit private caves away from the regular, more commercial tours. Our caves are on a beautiful hill country farm and your guide is also your host, so expect a really enjoyable and memorable tour of our two magical caves.

I’d go back on this tour in a heartbeat! We loved that we were a total group of 8 people plus a guide, which personalized the experience significantly. Plan on excellent walking shoes, a breathtakingly lovely mountain path (not for the mobility challenged, but I...More

Really recommend touring the caves with Spellbound, there were only four on the tour plus Norm our guide. Went to two caves with a boat ride in the first cave and everything was easy access. Norm was great, clearly had a lot of knowledge about...More

Well worth it. We had a small group of 5 so never felt crowded. Our guide (think his name was Norm) was excellent. He provided info about the area for the entire bus ride and drove us through a private farm to some beautiful caves....More

We loved the experience. Traveling with Spellbound has many advantages: the group is small, the guide (I guess his name was Zane) is very well informed and has a great sense of humor, we have the chance to walk outside the caves in a beautiful...More

We decided to go to Spellbound as I wanted to avoid the crowds and I'm so glad we did. Our group was around 10 people which was perfect. Our guide Zane (I think, my memory is hopeless) was friendly, enthusiastic and informative, and took the...More

Wonderful guide on our tour with Spellbound! Our family with two children ages 10 and 12 all enjoyed this tour so much. So much more than just the caves (which were magical), we got history and nature as well. Highly recommended.

Having recently done the standard Waitomo cave tour I can easily say that the Spellbound tour is far better - length of tour, number of glow worms and the guide was significantly more knowledgable. If you do one Waitomo glow worm tour I recommend you...More

Spellbound, does this trip justice. When I was looking at doing a glow worm cave trip, I looked at the main cave sight, but after looking at the review I choose Spellbound and I am glad I did! The other sight is over run with...More

Thanks for your review, Clearly, the main attraction is the NZ glowworms, we say 30,000 , which is a conservative estimate. Derek Mason did start tours here around 1994, but most of the infrastructure was put in by our company since 2003, The Derek and...More

This trip is a beautiful underground experience suitable for almost all ages and abilities. Small groups allow for interaction with your guide or some peaceful moments in these fantastic 2 caves which have it all -bush walk, formations, glow worms and a boat trip.
