The legendary black water rafting was a great experience. The guides have been friendly, fun and looked after our safety. The hardest part, besides getting into the wetsuit, was getting in the cave. The water in the cave is very cold, so make sure you have a wetsuit that is not too big for you. In complete darkness and on... More

Absolutely amazing!!! This was by far the HIGHLIGHT of my trip. I am so pleased I pushed myself and did not chicken out. I felt very safe the entire time. My 65yr old mother and her 75yr old friend did this a year ago and they loved it that much I thought I'd give it a go. So pleased I... More

We did the Black Abyss tour and it was a great experience! My mom booked the tour for 4 but, unfortunately, she was so sick the morning we arrived she wasn't able to go due to how physical the tour is. The staff was so nice and refunded her payment and also helped book her on a boat tour as... More

Did the Labyrinth tour. It was awesome from start to finish. Excellent guides, they were very knowledgeable and looked after everyone as an individual. The caves themselves were everything we expected and more, so serene floating down in the dark with nothing but the sound of the water and flow worms twinkling above. Worth every cent. And the photos were... More

We had trouble deciding if we should do the dry cave walking tour, or this, or both. Once we did this we were happy with the glow worms we had seen, and didn't feel that cave "formations" were enough of a drawcard for us to warrant spending more money on a dry cave tour. The tubing was a lot of... More

We did the tubing adventure through the caves; there were three couples, two sets in their 30s and one set in their 60s. The staff of LBWR were incredibly professional, insuring that those of us who might get cold had extra layers, also insuring we had the right size helmets, and training us well. The tubing is loads of fun,... More

This is a must do in New Zealand. Very reputable company as my partner did this same trek 21 years ago and it is still here. The staff is very knowledgeable about the caves and the water levels. The water was only 12 degrees while we were there and we were outfitted in head to toe suits that kept us... More

What an experience. The glow worms themselves are interesting, but the expedition itself would be great even without them. A combination of walking wading climbing through caves and floating on an inner tube is just fantastic fun. Combine with a couple of backward leaps of faith into water below (up to 1m drop) and you've got a terrific adrenalin rush... More

We did the Black Abyss trip and had a great time, it's fun, exhilarating and interesting. Good value for money - you absail, zip-wire, walk, wade, swim and float through the system and final climb up water falls. Our guides were Mike & Lofty, felt very secure with them and they were such good fun, we had a blast!

I did the Black Odyssey and it was such a cool experience. We really got into the cave crawling into small spaces so it was a true spelunking experience and I really loved that. We also got to climb pretty high up navigating through the cave and repelling down as well. Overall a great day and one of my favourite... More
