Great way to see the beauty of Mother Nature. A fantastic piece of engineering enables you to be in awe of this underground fantasia. Matched with a great guide, thanks TV, it's definitely worth doing. I was told that prior to lockdown only 18% of their visitors were Kiwi. That's a shame. Come on Kiwis don't miss this spectacular place. My wife's got a bad knee and they were happy to provide a wheelchair which certainly made life easier.…

I thought that this cave was really worthwhile to visit. It is easy to access with a wonderfully constructed gentle slope with a handrail to spiral slowly down into the depths of the cave. The paths are easy to walk along with handrails over 90% of the cave. The stalactites and stalagmites were magnificent. It is a one and a half hours not to be missed. We did the Waitomo glow worm cave tour (in the boat) and the Ruakuri Cave tour. Had previously done the glow worm boat tour but this was the first time going to the Ruakuri Cave. Highly recommended. Easy walking in the cave. Opportunity to see the cave up close and glow worms too. Photos allowed to be taken in this cave. Highlight of our trip was this cave tour. …

Incredible journey 65 meters underground to view nature's spectacles - glow worms, stalagmites, stalactites, stalagmates, and many incredible veils. Our tour guide was a local who's family has been part of the original cavers in the region, her love of the caves and protecting this incredible piece of NZ heritage was obvious. This tour is for all, including those who are differently abled or in wheel chairs - highly recommend.…

The caves were lovely. Beautiful formations and nice lighting. If you never have been to any caves it is a must see...If you have been to a few there are a few unique bits but not a lot. The tour is a bit long and our guide was not very interested in her job. We enjoyed it but it's more "good" than "very good". It is a bit pricey for what it is but they have invested a lot in the tours, I imagine. Worth doing if you have never been on a cave tour in New Zealand.…
