The village itself was great and the people in costume in some of the cottages told some very interesting stories. They need to put up more comprehensive signs for parking as the village was at the end of a very narrow lane and we nearly...More

Thank you for your review and I am pleased you enjoyed your visit. The area around Little Woodham is currently being developed and unfortunately is very scruffy right now, but once all the work is complete it should look great!

This is a delightful hidden gem, a genuine 17 century village, preserved and operated by volunteers. I was lucky enough to visit on Mayday so there were lots of lovely activities including dancing round the maypole. I believe the volunteers are there on other days...More

I was immersed in the sights, sounds and (only a bit) of the smells of history, with friendly villagers to entertain me and the kids. They even sawed a bit of wood in half and I saw a lady doing real nordic knitting.

The rustic feel was just so fitting when I visited this 17th century village over the weekend - warm, genuine volunteers whose keen interest really complemented the cultural lores and practices on show.
