We walked up to the castle from town in drizzle so the views weren’t great, and decided to take shelter in the church. It was a nice little church with beautiful Iron work above the side chapels. Not overly ornate, and very peaceful to contemplate...More

We did not take a guided tour and did not go inside the church. It is quaintly beautiful, sitting up on the hill with the castle. I felt it made the hillside even more attractive.

If you take the tour of the castle, you also see this. Tour is inexpensive & takes about an hour. Only downside for us was that there was no English translation available - Spanish only.

This is really worth the short climb to the summit, overlooking the town and and the surrounding countryside. You really feel the hand of history here, and you see the layers of the Moors and the Christians. It's a lovely place to see the sunset.

The church itself is nothing special inside, however the arched bell tower is spectacular and the views from the top are very fine. It is not too difficult a walk from the centre of Aracena. Take a path down on the north side though a...More

If you are in Aracena you should climb to the fort. From here you have a great view over the valley. For the way back you can choose a new track (e.g. turn right towards the Cathedral).
