Our bus tour stopped at Lagar de Belmonte to taste Portuguese Olive oil. After a brief talk, we wandered the museum in the lower level and tasted the olive oil in the shop above. The best thing about this little tour was the olive oil!...More

This was part of a tour stop in Belmonte covering 3 properties; it is rather small and lacks exciting or interactive olive oil information. There are a few machines and pictures, but doesn't razzle dazzle you on all things olive oil.

Didn't realize it was a museum until I came to review. We had a tasting with our tour group and walked around the downstairs with the machinery. Guess that was the museum part! ;)

The quickest visit to a museum I have been too. Considering the importance of olive oil in this region and Portugal, they could have done a lot better. Very disappointed. I’ve been to Restaurantes with better olive oil reproduction equipment.

Very clean and nice place, very little to see in the museu. Basically see what they used to use. Other than that has the small shop store

very modern museum in a very old recuperated traditional architecture building where you can taste and learn everything about the olive tree and its products, sample and buy the best olive oil of the country

A very interesting little place to visit to learn the olive oil making process. One can also sample different types of olive oil and buy the favourite.

Must do. It's not big but it is charming and quite appealing. It's well organised and the collection is interesting.
