The Lagoa de Santo André is totally separated from the ocean, except once a year in March for the renewal of the water. It is confortable to swim and even in August, this place is not crowded.

This is a good spot for families with small children, the sea in this area has very strong currants so small children would not be safe. This is a pleasant safe area, not commercialised and within walking distance of ice creams, water etc.

It's a very nice place. You have the sea by one side and in the other you have the lake that has a island in the middle. There are one place to eat closer.

Nice beach with a lake where the children can enjoy the calm waters. To adults I recommend the sea side.
