First things first - definitely hire a 4x4 to get to the start of the track! The little Toyota Corolla we were driving around the South Island would not have coped. You have to cross 9 x fords, and it's a long unsealed dirt road....More

I read other reviews about the hike to see Rob Roy and though I'd give it a go. I'm 68, average fitness and maybe slightly over weight, so I thought I'd give it a go. Starting at the end, this is a must see site,...More

We visited in May 2018, and were lucky in having some amazing blue sky. The best part of this hike is the stunning valley at the bottom, set below snow-capped mountains. The valley features a pleasant walk along a river alongside sheep and cows. It's...More

Got dropped off to do the walk by my wife. She has never let me forget how long it took to drop us off and go back into Wanaka. Don't look at local tourist maps and the road keeps on going and it is gravel...More

First, I need to make it clear that I did not make it to track. I write this review to warn people about the road condition. I don't mind that majority of the road is unpaved road. However, I found it overwhelming that there is...More

This is an uphill trek, roughly 2-3hours but it is not too difficult or steep. It is partly along a river, then through forrest then there are two points where you can clearly see the glacier. It is about an hours drive from Wanaka down...More

Its not everyday one gets to hike this track, good tracks and beautiful scenery. We didn't go all the way up to the peak but still our track was memorable and worth the trip. Highly recommended

It was probably my favourite hike of the trip. Everything on the path was super beautiful, almost overwhelmingly so. There is a nice lookout about 15 - 20 minutes from the top. While it's a good spot to have a snack and a drink of...More

We arranged this hike through Active Downunder, located in San Diego, CA. This was a prepaid, pre-booked trip through Active Downunder (great itinerary). We were picked up from our hotel by our guide and taken to the trail head. The hike was mostly easy with...More
