Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As soon as you get out of the car you can hear the waterfall and with less than a 5 minute walk through the high green canopy of the majestic trees the falls emerge. Due to the recent rains they were flowing pretty full, the river below runs crystal clear.
This is a must visit, it won’t take too much time out of your travel.

Parking space alongside the Haast Highway to visit these falls. A short walk to see the 28 metre waterfall. This is one of several short stops available along this stretch of the Haast Road. Much more impressive than nearby Fantail Falls and Roaring Billy Falls.

If you only have the time, or fitness, to see one waterfall along the Haast Pass, this is the one.
It’s about 45 minutes from Haast, on the right, but there’s parking on both sides of the highway.
From there it’s a 2 minute walk along a short flat track to a 2 level lookout, or you can scramble down a few rocks to get to the river bed.
The falls are spectacular, a decent size, and right in front of your face.
No toilets, but be careful if crossing the highway from the eastbound side.

Compared to other Water Falls in the area, this is probably the best. Presents itself as a stunning free fall 28 metre waterfall, even on days following a period of dry weather. A short 10-minute, well-formed track provides very easy access to its viewpoint. and is well worth the effort.

This 96-metre waterfall is considered to be one of New Zealand's "must see" waterfalls. A lovely forest walk leads to a viewing platform, directly across the river from the falls. It is a short, easy walk on a paved trail, 10 minutes round trip. A car park is conveniently located just off SH 6 for easy access. After driving for several hours, this was a very nice break.

Thunder Creek Falls is a hidden gem found on the west coast of South Island in New Zealand en route from Queenstown to Franz Josef. Certainly worth visiting the falls and the beautiful natural surroundings.

Visited on Wednesday 9th May. A short walk gets you to these falls and we were lucky to see them after some heavy rain. A great spot to stretch your legs as well.

A couple hundred metres off the highway, across a river. You can't cross the river (at least not when we were there) but it is still a picturesque waterfall with the nice blue water.

The waterfall is very pretty as is the short walk to view it. It takes maybe 10 minutes to get to the falls depending on how many photos you take. The trail is improved but not paved. There is an interpretive sign at the trailhead. READ the Poison Warning sign - you really don't want to take a pet or allow your small kid to pick up anything. The sign warns of 1080 poison being used. 1080 was banned in the US in 1972 even though it was never used the way NZ uses it. In this case, cereal pellets laced with this chemical are broadcast all over the area by helicopter - including this public scenic attraction. It causes an agonizing 48 hour slow death of any mammal (yes, including humans) that ingests it. If another animal feeds on a poisoned animal, it dies too. Remember that you are in New Zealand's version of a National Park (Mt Aspiring) where the broadcast poison is being used. Mt Aspiring NP is also a UNESCO world heritage site. Google 1080 to learn more.

Impressive water falls and only an easy 5 minute walk from the highway. Well worth stopping here for a few minutes on your way through.
