Amazing views of the valley, town and lakes. To do the full walk takes about 3 hours but will take you right to the mountain top. Take a special treat to celebarte the view and place your rock on the pile.Requires a fair amount of...More

Have you ever reached a summit and just started crying from pure beauty? Well that was me 2 weeks ago on my way to the Rocky Mountain Summit. A mix between a different untouched planet and Land before time. I have never seen beauty like...More

Highly recommend heading out around the lake for this walk. Quite a steep walk up to the lake and lookout but well worth it for the million dollar views. Make sure you go as far as the Wanaka lookout and if you’ve got extra energy...More

The track starts at the Diamond Lake conservation car park so we left the city heading west - to Glendhu Bay camp, with the lake on the right hand at all times. The Diamond Lake Conservation parking lot is also on the right side of...More

A superb walk starting with a short incline up to Diamond Lake then a slightly more rugged loop track of the "Rocky Mountain" superb views over Lake Wanaka from the West of the Lake and a super reasonable 2.5-3hr hike

We loved this hike up to Rocky Mountain Peak. It has great views of Lake Wanaka, Mt. Aspiring National park and the farms below.

On a late afternoon we decided to do the diamond lake track and we added the lake Wanaka view point to it. It was not a long walk but definitely worth it! It was very quiet and the views over Lake Wanaka were stunning! We...More

It's a long and quite steep walk up the Daimond Lake Lookout but well worth the effort. From the car park, there's a trail that takes you to the lake, which is uphill but not too demanding. You can then walk around the lake, and...More
