The adults enjoyed the visit, the 10 year old didn’t but that says more about him than the venue. The grounds are beautiful, the fields of lavender makes a lovely backdrop, there are games and activities that would be fun without a grumpy preteen. The farm animals are cute. Stop at the cafe for ice cream and a lavender bikkie on your way out!

If Tom Brady was a Lavender farm this is the one he would be. An absolute bargain. We Had a great time strolling around, feeding the aminals, inhaling the lavender and best of all I beat my daughter at pétanque. Highly recommend for families with younger (<13) kids

This lavender farm was just 5 minutes away from Wanaka. Easy drive and easy to find as there was sign at the roadside or you could easily find a cloud of purple lavenders in a farm.
We visited Wanaka Lavender Farm many times and we would re-visit no matter how many times we explored the place.
There were many species of lavenders, the kids could feed the animals and roamed around the lavenders.
It was a nice place to take beautiful photos.
It had a lavender gift shop stocked with plenty of lavender products such as bath bombs, bath salts, shower gels, lavender bulbs, lavender sachets, lavender oils and candles and etc.
We loved the little tea room beside the gift shop where we had our cup of lavender tea, lavender ice cream served during the hot summer days.

I would think twice about taking the trek to visit the farm if the lavender is out of season. We called in on 29th July and not a flower (or coffee in sight at the cafe)

Has the lavender recently been harvested? I don’t want to travel all that way to see some stalks

Yes it has, its winter so it’s not the season to go to see it in flower. Still a lovely place to visit if you have spare time and are in and around Wanaka

There should be some lavenders blooming however, I believe the best time is during spring. In NZ it will be Autumn now.

When is the lavender in full bloom? We are looking to visit next October or November, what stage of bloom might the lavender be during those months? Thank you.

We were there today and only one patch was in bloom. It has been quite cold this week, so there may be a delay. It was still worth the visit, and you may be luckier in a couple of weeks.

As that is summer time in New Zealand , I would imagine it would be in beautiful bloom then. Enjoy 😊
Will you be opened between this 15 - 21 June 2018 ?

Good morning, the farm is still open 7 days a week until the end of May. From 1st June until the end of August the farm is open Wednesday until Sunday from 10am - 5pm. At this time there is not a bus from town however some people grab a taxi from the iSite.
The lavender is not flowering during the winter months however it is still a beautiful property to wander around. The animals (a pig, highland cows, alpacas, sheep, chickens & miniature horses) love visitors and you can feed the sheep and alpacas at this time of year. There are several garden games to challenge your family or friends with. The shop & tearoom are still open and by the end of the week the log burner should be roaring. You can try the handmade lavender products, honey varieties and even have a lavender ice cream if you wish! I hope this clarifies a few things. Tim Zeestraten (owner)
