Go there for a walk before the sun goes down. And then watch the sun wink at the mountain peaks, not all at once. Breathtaking... It’s a beautiful lake with a lovely path for a walk. Well worth seeing.

It is breathtaking walking the lake there in fall. One of the most gorgeous spots I saw in NZ. The orange yellow leaves waving in the gentle breeze with the glinting lake as a backdrop....just breathtaking!

Yep it's a lake. Yes it is pretty and the main reason you would stop and look around this little town.

Nice laidback place, beautiful scenery around the lake, crystal clear water, plenty of things to do from kayaking to cruising on the lake, one of New Zealand’s jewels

We hadn't been to Wanaka in a number of times but it still takes your breath away when you look over Lake Wanaka. We had a walk along the shoreline and just marvelled at the snow covered mountains. A couple of people were paddle boarding...More

Easy but also a bit difficult question ? Depend on your preference of hotel type. Most of the hotels are still at the walking distances from the lake front, where all facilities usually located, restaurants, cafes, shop... More
