Took relaxing walk on the banks of Gorgeous Wanaka Lake on our way to Rippon Vineyard Wine Tasting. Ample free facilities well utilized by public. Will visit again.

It's really very beautiful lake specially in calm weather /no wind/. Better time for Wanaka tree pics - early morning or before sunset.

It was raining when we got there nevertheless it was a nice afternoon where kids could play at the playground, teenagers getting selfy. If you are driving a caravan/campervan please make sure you don't park at areas where caravans aren't allowed. The signage wasn't that...More

This is beautiful lake to travel beside the northern part on NH 6, then to admire the southern part from the town of Wanaka at its southern tip.

Wanaka is like Queenstown was 25 years ago. Still quite touristy but small and plenty to do and see. Easy access to the lakes and great views all over the place.

Lovely location. Great food. Great place to visit for families. Went to award winning pie chop and Patagonia ice cream - all excellent. Lovely bike path and skate board ring at the Pembroke park for kids

Highly recommend the walkway and bike trail arround the lake, its a nice mild ride/walk and there are some beauty scenes. Swimming is great! I'd recommend some aqua shoes cause most of the footing is small rocks
