My new wife and I decided to take a trip out on lake Wanaka as one of our many honeymoon treats on our way to Queenstown.
Matt our boat driver did a great job of drifting and spinning the Chevy 6.2 litre, 350bhp Jet Boat around the lake including showing us some great sights, the Wanaka tree and Ruby Island.
The fun thrilled experience never once failed to bring a huge smile to my wife’s face and the sound of the roaring V8 was all I needed to keep me happy.
Thanks Matt and all the staff for being so friendly and accommodating to us.

First time on a jet ski, and it was great. I didn't want to give it back! Very easy to operate, but exciting to ride on. We went out onto Lake Wanaka and visited one of the bigger islands, where the guide gave us an explanation about the history. We were free to experiment on the jet ski and try different moves, as well as going fast! Well worth doing, and am thinking about getting one myself now!

What an absolutely fantastic way to check out Lake Wanaka and the Clutha River. Our family of four loved every minute of the ride. Our guide Jeremiah was such a good driver, he was adventurous and thrill seeking with a high level of safety. He was informative about the region and the boat, he was also humorous. It’s not often you feel like you have a thrill ride that lasts an hour.
I highly recommend this thrill ride to everyone.

We hired kayaks and the plus side was the price was good at 30 dollars for 2 hours.
Two women took the money, handed us a paddle and pushed us off. There was no instruction, no health and safety info like how to manage a capsize etc.
When we returned the boats we pulled them up on shore, we put the paddles back and stored the life jackets. The two women on duty were lounging on the beach totally disinterested. So much so that a potential customer came to as they thought I might be staff.
So trip was good but the quality of service was probably worst we've ever experienced.
Would seriously advise others to think twice before booking with them. If you were a beginner and got in to problems you're completely up the creek without a paddle!
Would not use again.

Hi Brian, sorry for missing your review at the time. We are now actively going through all our reviews, making improvements where possible. I am a little confused by some of this review as all rental as part of the hire are required to sign and acknowledge a safety checklist and our drivers are constantly patrolling the lake. Thanks for your honesty around the beach service and recommendations around beginners kayakers.

We booked for 6, team was awesome and accommodating, however the trip and ride its self wasn't as fun as it looked on their video. i felt like it was more like a scenic boat ride with not much thrill, would be a perfect ride for younger children.
Our guide and driver was awesome he gave us good information about the river and what not, and his fast thinking saved us from being crashed into by another Jet boat coming at high speeds up the river.
I totally recommend this ride for families and people who like a bit of speed.

I might have paid a premium, but it was a nice stay and the service excellent. No aircon in rooms can make it a bit hot. New beds required. Ultra soft beds cause lots of back issues for me.

The mountains are so beautiful, and the lake was just amazing. We went for a boat ride down the lake was really amazing very interesting stories told by our captain, sorry I forgot her name. She was full of fun and very entertaining, beautiful and amazing. Food was lovely, we had sea food crayfish for dinner which was so perfect. People were friendly and helpful. 3 days wasn't enough, but we loved it.

We had a great time aboard the jet boat with Lakeland Wanaka. Sarah, our jet boat driver was extremely proficient behind the wheel. Sarah perfectly balanced speed and maneuvering along with an informative narrative of the history of jet boats and the surrounding environs.

We did this boat trip today & because the lake was rough we drove with the boat 1ins up the road to get onto the river. Matt was brilliant, he drove the boat very competently and shared his local knowledge at relevant points along the trip. We rode close to the trees and did several Hamilton turns as well as riding fast over rapids and along the river. There were only 4 of us on the trip but we were made to feel very safe and welcome. I would highly recommend this boat trip to anyone staying in Wanaka.

Mike (Mark, Matt, Migony) goes by many names, but the one I would call him is "Best Instructor". My wife and I went on their jet ski tour, which took us all around Lake Wanaka, to under the cliffs and hills, to the middle open water. It was the best experience I have had so far from our south island tour. Really recommend once in a life time experience.
