Wow! What a great spot. Hollywood meets Wanaka! Very luxurious entrance to a quirky bar, comfortable seats to have a drink (wine, beers or coffee) whilst waiting for your movie to start (also a great library of movie/cinema books to browse through). There are two cinemas - one large-ish one and the 'snug' which is as its name implies -... More

The atmosphere in this small, intimate 'Hollywood' style theatre is absolutely fabulous. A "snug' that has huge cosy armchairs that recline or the larger cinema with spacious seats and blankets if you want to cosy up in them. Drinks can be ordered to be delivered during the movie or have whilst you are waiting to go in and just take... More

If they are showing a film you want to see then do go and experience this different, quirky cinema. Could be entering a night club. Have a drink and a bite to eat while looking through their many books on the film industry before being lead through to your luxury seat (?old first class plane seats) Recline, raise the foot... Myself and my partner went along with our friends and we all weren't very happy with the experience. The tickets are expensive (which we anticipated due to the type of cinema it is). The seating inside was lovely but having massive chairs squished into a small room with a huge screen was off-putting - the screen was too big and... More

A lovely evening at Ruby's cinema. I can see why people plan their trips around a visit there. We saw Lion. Great film made all the more memorable by deep comfy seats - there's a sofa if you book in time! Hot dogs and "Big Bird"toasties brought to your seat washed down with a drink including a wide selection of... More

Have now visited around 5-6 times. It is a delightful place. Service is good. Wine and treats are good. They generally show good films and not the Transformers 22 of this world. Small note, last time i was there it was almost full and as we hadnt booked we had to sit at the back row which is not on... More
