My husband loves war planes, so we were very excited to see the collection here, however very disappointed to pay $20 only to see about 6 planes. there were some cool cars on the other side of the shed, but the whole viewing took all of half hour with us taking our time. We dont believe we got good value... More

The Warbirds section has few planes, but carefully selected to tell the story and supported by other exhibits and displays that add considerable interest. The "Wheels" are more numerous, and are mostly very "upmarket" models in excellent condition, but telling no discernible story. There were two DVDs playing in the museum when I visited, one was of a previous Warbirds... More

Thanks for the review. We pride ourselves on the quality and rare nature of our cars, each of which is selected because of its pristine condition, rare nature or uniqueness. Our Duesnberg is the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and was owned by the famous actress Carole Lombard. It was restored here in Wanaka and is... More

Good variety of aircraft and associated equipment as well as some well presented vehicles. Many your not going to see elsewhere. Good descriptive stories with each.

Cool things but seriously over priced to go in a view just a hanger with cars and a few planes in it.

Hi Pennybell123. Thanks for taking the time to review. sorry to hear you felt we were over priced. The uniqueness and rare nature of our cars appeals to car nuts and those that appreciate the 'artwork' of these amazing feats of engineering. The value of our collection and the maintenance to keep them pristine is quite high and we feel... More

Wanaka is a small town with this really cool museum. While some are relatively modern by car standards it has what can only be call amazing like the 1934 Duisenberg which looks like it was made yesterday. Well worth a visit if only to bring back the memories of cars once owned. The warbird part was much smaller and wasn't... More

Well worth going to visit this museum. From the friendly informative welcome to the themed cafe it was just wonderful. The highlight was the most fabulous collection of cars, they were simply fabulous. I'm not really into cars, don't even drive but I was drooling!! Do not miss this place!!

For such a small community this museum has a superb collection of cars and planes. The bi-annual event Warbirds Over Wanaka is a must see.

A bit of a warplanes tragic, I found the displays of the few planes fascinating,,plus lots of in depth info on NZ fighter pilots. Never really been a car buff, but my wife and I were absolutely enthralled and amazed by the beautifully restored and presented vintage cars. Like stepping back into Downtown Abbey and Al Capone movies etc. the... More

Thanks for the review. We're glad you appreciated the displays on offer. We're very lucky to have such an amazing collection of classic cars from 1914-1950s. This was THE era of car making in the US. Add to that our five planes, war history, rangefinders and guns etc and it makes for a great trip down memory lane for many.... More
