We went on a cold windy day. The planes and military history are great, but the cars are pure gold.My wife is not a car nut, but was blown away by the display. You would be hard pressed to find better examples anywhere in the world. We browsed the souvenir shop then had a great meal in the diner out front.

Thanks Stephen B for the review. Sorry you thought our admission was expensive at $20 an adult. We regularly do price comparisons and feel we're well priced in the market. Especially as you can spend a good few hours out with us taking everything in. Thanks again for taking time to post a review. More

We were stopping through Wanaka on our way to Franz Josef and my husband being a pilot wanted to stop by here and look at everything. I thought it was a bit expensive for the museum entry fee, but at the same time I do understand that they are probably not visited very often since they sit out of the... More

Hi ladyrider42, thanks for the review. We believe we are priced well within the paid-for museum market and always keep up to speed with what other museums charge. You can easily spend 2-3 hours with us taking everything in. We love Ricky the Rickenbacker too and you're right he's in great condition and one-of-a-kind. So he's pretty special. Glad you... More

The passion of the exhibitors of a variety of exceptional vintage cars and a few aircraft is palpable as the visitor walks around the exhibition hall . Upstairs is an art gallery to appease the art lover . A small fee helps with the upkeep . A souvenir shop is available and a restaurant to satisfy the appetite. There is... More

Checking out local aviation history, incredible cars mixed with art is a must do when you're in Wanaka. Exceeded any expectations and was a great way to spend some time looking at some informative and incredible displays. Great coffee in the cafe attached with cheese rolls.

A good drive from Queenstown to Wanaka and high expectations of "warbirds" left me a little flat with the limited number of aircraft. This however was soon forgotten once we turned the corner to the car museum to see my real passion, The Dusenberg, Packards, Cadillac, Lincoln and other desirable classic cars are world class and a credit to the... We have visited quite a few similar collections over the years but this one was impressive - very interesting exhibits of a high standard & well supported with information & DVDs, but not so large as to be overwhelming. We spent a couple of hours here on a weekday morning & almost had the place to ourselves.

We visited Warbirds & Wheels on the busiest weekend of their year – the the spectacular Warbirds over Wanaka airshow. The museum staff were wonderful, ready to answer questions about exhibits and happy to hear stories from visitors despite being so busy. A highlight was hearing a Packard engine being started. What a great idea to have the engine mounted... More
