We stopped here on our trip from Greymouth to Dunedin and found it to be a great museum. Dennis loves vintage cars and we found this museum had them very well presented and with lots to see. Could do with more but then we went to the Transport and Toy Museum which had lots, but they were not as well... More

museum. Some cool planes and cars, exhibits about NZ fighter pilots (the latter being one of the better parts. Small art gallery onsite as well. We both ordered breakfast at the 50s style diner attached to the museum. Scrambled eggs were super runny, much to my chagrin. Food was a bit pricey, and diner far too sunny today. Overall we... Hi, thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the museum. Sorry to hear your eggs were runny, we would have happily re-made them for you had you asked as we pride ourselves on our quality food and want our guests to be happy. $12 for bacon and eggs is probably the best priced breakfast you'll get anywhere in Wanaka or... As the title said, this museum is stunning, the cars are all immaculate and very well looked after. Spoke to a man who had a few cars on display and he was very friendly and knowledgable. Staff were very welcoming and entry was very cheap at only $20 per person.

Thanks Kerry M. We pride ourselves on being the "heart and soul of Wanaka Airport" where all the local operators and tourists come for a bite before or after their flight or skydive. Glad you found time to come and hang out at our diner, thanks. More

I was hoping for more as a warbirds museum. What was there was good, just not enough of it. Probably 65% of the place is dedicated to cars, which would be good if that is what floats your boat. Not so for me. Found the aero engine displays interesting and the histories of planes and pilots, and did like looking... More

We went on a cold windy day. The planes and military history are great, but the cars are pure gold.My wife is not a car nut, but was blown away by the display. You would be hard pressed to find better examples anywhere in the world. We browsed the souvenir shop then had a great meal in the diner out front.

Very well present but a little bit expensive. There is a cafe and souvenir shop attached. The food is good and the coffee is excellent. You will come away with the story of the warebirds. They also have art collection and wearable arts on show.

Thanks Stephen B for the review. Sorry you thought our admission was expensive at $20 an adult. We regularly do price comparisons and feel we're well priced in the market. Especially as you can spend a good few hours out with us taking everything in. Thanks again for taking time to post a review. More

We were stopping through Wanaka on our way to Franz Josef and my husband being a pilot wanted to stop by here and look at everything. I thought it was a bit expensive for the museum entry fee, but at the same time I do understand that they are probably not visited very often since they sit out of the... More

Hi ladyrider42, thanks for the review. We believe we are priced well within the paid-for museum market and always keep up to speed with what other museums charge. You can easily spend 2-3 hours with us taking everything in. We love Ricky the Rickenbacker too and you're right he's in great condition and one-of-a-kind. So he's pretty special. Glad you... More
