Our world-class visitor attraction showcases a collection of Warbirds aircraft, over 35 world class and privately owned classic cars, RealArt Roadshow of unique New Zealand art, wearable arts and tales of a local legend Sir Tim Wallis. This attraction also contains a 1950's retro diner with a wide range of delicious snacks baked on site daily, diner-style meals and refreshments, and retail shop with loads of exciting car and aircraft memorabilia. Open seven days 9am to 4pm. Located at the Wanaka airport, 9km from the township.

If you are into planes then make sure you put War Birds over Wanaka on your must do list. Fantastic. - Check out their website for the next show Easter 2020

A collection of aircraft and a collection of (mostly old American) cars were all wonderfully presented and all exhibits were in first class condition. The museum however is not very big and the $20 entrance fee is high but not ridiculous given the quality on...More

This is a well laid out, informative, interesting museum to visit. All of the objects are in good condition (for their ages), with information placards against each. Grouped according to manufacturer or vintage, there's a mezzanine floor to look through, tracing Sir Tim Wallis' career...More

a very clean and well laid out display of cars and planes. every thing is we restored/maintained and plenty of information on each display. The Skyhawk was impressive! and the SE5a was just beautiful....Well done W&W keep it up! ..P.S. great coffee at the diner...More

... (no kidding). Retro Airplanes AND cars ... a big boys dream location... & superbly presented. Wandering around traps you into absorbing all the background on pilots, & planes, all now history in most part. You need 1-2 hours but hey have an intermission break...More

We stopped in after warbirds over wanaka. The museum is only small but super interesting!!! We really enjoyed our walk through. Also some quirky dresses throughout the place.

My husband wanted to see the Warbirds & Wheels museum since he is into the old war planes. I stayed in the gift store & walked around while he went inside since this really wasnt my thing. He came out after about 20 min &...More

quite a bit of variety. more cars than airplanes. some of the cars were very special (like Carol Lombard's Duesy). We enjoyed our visit and would return.

I was a little disappointed. There was not as many aircraft as I expected. Some nice cars, mostly being Cadillac's and Packards. A friend suggest I vist the Toy and Transport Museum next door and now I wish I did
