It feels more like doing a movie night with your 80 friends rather than a movie theathre. There's couches as well as normal theathre seats, and also a car where you can sit and watch the movie. The freshly made cookies were delicious!

Read about the cinema before arriving so booked on arrival in Wanaka, glad we did as showing sold out by evening. There are two small cinemas with unique seating that includes an old car, seats from old airline business class, sofas and a dentist chair. The film will stop abruptly about half way through for the interval when warm home... More

Paradiso offered us a cinema experience that was delightfully different. What was 'normal' was a quality movie experience in terms of picture quality and sound but the movie 'houses' are pleasingly different from normal and they have retained some of the quirkiness of the old Paradiso that made it such a hit. This is one cinema where you still get... More

We'd heard about the quirky seating - sofas and even a 1960's Morris Minor, but the highlight was the smell of freshly baked cookies when we went out for the interval.

Great cinema. Great character. Great staff. Great movie. Had a home made ice cream beforehand, a tasty lamb burger at interval. Have never had a meal at interval and an interval that finished only when the burger was finished. Along with the Broome open air cinema....the best I've been to.

Lovely little find in Wanaka. Nearly fell asleep curled up on the couch. Friendly staff, and delicious food. A right asset for Wanaka

Quirky cinema. Book a ticket and get there early to get a good seat / sofa. Great cookies available in the intermission. A must to do whilst in Wanaka.

I loved it! I went to see the Lion (also pretty good movie) and to have an other cinema experience ($15). It's fun what they did with the seating. Yes there is an old fashion intermezzo in between but totally worth it. The home made triple chocolate cookie is to die for. And to have an overkill off chocolate try... More

Went after many recommendations and enjoyed a good movie (see lion if you get a chance). Booked our seats in advance (do the same by phone and pay on the spot to be sure you have a seat) and got there to see a quaint little cinema with regular spacious seats, sofas and even a beetle you can sit in.... So good to go to a movie theatre where people can walk past with out having to stand up and sitting through a whole movie without a saw bum and drinks in the theatre. How it should be watching a movie
