Even with lower than average water level, Lake Wanaka is a picture post card for visitors ... well all of WANAKA is.

Located lakeside on the Lakeside Road end of the lake, this park has a playground with a dinosaur as a slide. There is a large parking lot beside it so it is easy to get to. As Wanaka isn't too big it is also walkable in case the parking lot is full.
Large grassy area as well as lots of other things in the playground. There is a BBQ area around the back as well as many mosaics around the trees on the lake end of the park. The hand monument is also closeby.

We sat in the park to eat our picnic and enjoyed watching the families make the most of the lovely sunny day. We commented that our Grandkids would've loved to play here. Lovely views across the lake. A safe area with everything considered for child safety and fun.

Too fun for words. Our kids came every day and never got bored. Such a wonderful time we had in wanaka
