This was a truely fantastic trip. Chris was incredibly knowledgable and interesting as well as passionate about the flora and fauna, the environment and the area's history. Scenery was stunning and we got up close and personal with the wildlife. Would totally recommend this experience!

It is our pleasure to show off the secrets of this island that only can be revealed in these guided tours of magic Mou Waho island. We love this special place and love leaving it better than we arrived by you planting a tree on this trip, we provide. A win-win for all concerned - Our Eco policy. Thank you!

Fantastic experience for our family of 4. Our guide did a great job at keeping our kids (6 and 8 years) enthusiastic on the walk (especially with the biscuits at the top!) We really enjoyed learning about the native wildlife and fauna. Highly recommended!

Thoroughly recommend this tour. Chris was an informative guide and the boat trip and hike to the lake at the top of the island were outstanding. 4 hour tour and we saw noone else. Fabulous!

My wife and I rocked up, with an open mind on a freezing Sunday morning, Craig our captain/tour pilot had a small heater going in the boat to rewarm our already frozen bodies as we climbed aboard, we then embarked on our “let’s say private tour” to an absolutely spectacular morning on lake Wanaka, Craig took the time to explain in detail about the area and how the lake was formed.

Then guided us on a simply remarkable tour of mouwaho island, with the promise of catching a glimpse of the endangered “Chook” known to the locals as the Buff Weka, which we subsequently found and admired on the trip (we got within a meter!)

Well worth the time and money this one, and probably a must do if your passing through Wanaka, you even get to plant a native tree on the island to help restore this true natural wonder of New Zealand.

5 stars guys, Thankyou for making our day!

If you do one tour in Wanaka, this is the one to do.
A boat ride along the stunning lake takes you to Mou Waho Island which is a predator free island that is being turned back into native bush. A walk through the bush emerges at the top where there is another lake and more stunning views.
We saw a couple of cheeky Weka who would steal your biscuits if you weren't watching.
Craig our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about conservation which was a highlight of the tour.
A great family outing too (we had 3 toddlers with us). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Thoroughly worthwhile trip, went with 2 kids and they loved it too.
Met a few Weka, Weta and a gecko, our guide Craig was full of relevant info about the trip (history, geology, flora and fauna) and made the trip really enjoyable for us.
The walk to the top of the island should be achievable for most fitness levels.
Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

I have always wanted to visit this island and Chris has made the experience incredible. His love for NZ bird life, nature and the area is absolutely infectious. Planting a tree to give something back and leaving the island in a better place was such a nice experience. Chris' knowledge about the area, glaciers and everything Wanaka related is next level. I cannot wait to do more trips with them when I am back in Wanaka next time.

We chose to go on the afternoon Lake Cruise & Nature Walk tour. We were blessed with a still sunny day, which made for a fantastic cruise along the lake to the island. Our tour guide Andy, made the walk up to the top lookout very entertaining, with a good mixture of humour and information. The views across the lake on top of the island were truly amazing. The views further out across the Wanaka region were breath-taking. It was a fantastic afternoon, and something we'll remember through some great photos.

Great guide - small group. You could go at your own pace. We walked up to the top of the island and saw the lake in the top of the island. The guide was very informative. Drinks and snacks were provided at a half way point with a view. We planted a tree. After the decent we hopped on the boat for the ride back to Wanaka town.
