We booked our first skydive on an impulse the night before whilst trying to find a replacement for the closed Rob Roy Glacier track. We booked through the holiday park, which got us $10 off and they printed our tickets for us.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the tandom masters put us at ease quickly. It was such a breathtaking experience, and the scenery was incredible. I would definitely recommend getting the handicam footage as it goes past so quickly and you can’t quite believe what just happened!

Brilliant experience. From start to finish, we were made to feel incredibly safe and looked after. Everything was clearly explained but in terms that made one feel reassured rather than freaked out. The dive itself was superb. James was a star as was Zac who jumped with my daughter Grace. Went for the handicam photos and video just so that we could remind ourselves of the whole experience. Not going to go again in a hurry but so happy to have done my first jump in wonderful Wanaka.

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon for a bit of a thrill. It was an absolutely amazing experience, totally worth it. We had a beautiful day and the staff was super friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. If skydiving is on you bucket list, definently come do it here in Wanaka, for the most fabulous views.

Very friendly and helpful staff, and a really well-run operation. Barna and Flo, our skydive instructors, were fantastic at putting us at ease and took really good care of us. An experience of a lifetime.

Wow, what an epic experience - simply can not recommend enough. We chose to skydive from 15.000ft (60sec free-fall) and opted for the Camera flyer view -package. We were also lucky, since me and my partner were the only ones jumping at that specific time (at 9.00AM) so we had the plane all to ourselves.
Really really really enjoyed the experience!
Everyone at Skydive Wanaka were super friendly and professional, felt safe all the time and had a great time, simply awesome.
Highly recommended! Would absolutely do it again if I get a chance.

The jump was fantastic and all was well with staff until I got my video. Paid $239 for my video and pictures and when I went to watch video they had cut over all the voice and original video sound with a song of their choice. They also cut out parts of the video. When I informed them I wanted to full video so that I could edit it on my own they refused unless I paid an extra $20.
After paying $229 for my video they wanted to charge me even more! I'm quite furious and feel very ripped off. Not transparent at all about their video operation. Would not recommend or visit this place again due to this.

My 1st Skydive. I paid $289 for a Flyer & Handycam Combo Video. They dint even take my Interview after I was all ready in my Jumpsuit. And Before Jumping I had briefed my Flyer to take Videos and pics of my Palms wherein I had sketched a message for all my friends. But the Flyer dint take any pics or video inspite of posing my palms in midair thrice. Though the skydive jump was awesome experience but it all ended up with a total mess & dissapointment when i saw the video.. My Front face not shown in any angle Nor my palms with the message. Not even the pics. All They offered me a Tshirt & a $30 discount even after accepting the fact that the pics & videos are messed up. Then finally they gave me full refund for the Video & Pics but only on a condition that they cant give me any pics & videos. Really unexpected after spoiling the whole experience. On top of that I still haven't received my skydive certificate too. Really one of the most dissapointing Experiences.

I made a promise to myself while lying in a hospital bed in 2012 to do one thing which I never thought I would do in my life. Sky diving in NZ which was, is, will be my favourite country in the world.
In next year 2013, in Taupo, my first attempt was failed due to bad weather. After another two years, in 2015, I got my 2nd chance in Wanaka thanks to Haka Tours.
Everything seemed promising from the very moment we stepped in to Skydive Wanaka. Nice warm welcome at the front desk from Elisa (as I remember her name) friendly, encouraging words, clear directions on what was to happen next helped ease a tense situation a bit. Despite all my nervousness and fear ,everything turned out pretty well in the next few minutes, which I thought the longest few minutes in my life so far. My tandem instructor- Jason, photographer –Chris did welcome and treat me in a manner which helped built faith and confidence in me that I felt I was in safe hands . After we took off , Jason still had answers for all my last minute silly questions and as we went further up, he started explaining the stunning view below us ( I think I nodded my head but not too sure if anything went in to my head though,,Sorry Jason ). Then came the BIG leap. I took an “executive” decision to keep my eyes closed tight during the free fall regardless. It was pretty intense and no regrets for what I may have missed . My only intension was to stay alive and not to screw up anything to upset Jason during the free fall. Then I opened my eyes .OMG!!! Chris was right in front of me and it’s time for a photo shoot in the sky :). Sweet As :). I couldn’t believe it was really happening. What I got to see after that was beyond explanation. I wish I had another pair of eyes :).
Someone who could barely cross a bridge let alone look down from it as a kid, who needed a BIT of support to do gondola and chair lift rides in Queenstown the previous day, jumped out of a plane from 12000ft the next day !!!! All that happened with Skydive Wanaka. They are professional, they have the expertise , they know what they do and they won’t let you down.
Thanks HEAPS Jason. You are a rock star :). Also Chris and rest of the crew at Skydive Wanaka. You helped me make the Impossible Possible.If I can do it, anyone can do it ..And Do it with Skydive Wanaka.

Ok so sadly I must warn you all. This for me did not feel safe at all. Would have wanted much more information. It all want to fast didn't really have a chance to ask.
I had called them the day before and made my questions wery clear. And then booked. Then when I arrived after an hour drive. They had forgotten all about it and I had to pay much more then I had expected. So basicly they go back on there word. That is cheating and lying. Not fit for a company like that.

I am very sorry that you believed a free gift coupon was actually a free skydive. When you arrived at the premises & present this coupon it was explained to you in detail. You were then given plenty of time to decided if you still wanted to continue with the jump. You chose to go ahead & you chose jump from 15000. You did not mention afterwards that you felt 'unsafe' at any point.
I'm very sorry that you felt that we "cheated or lied" to you in anyway. This is not the way we operate.
For future free gift coupons, we will add a value to them, so this will not happen again. Thank you for highlighting this for us & thanks again for choosing to jump with us.

I was staying in Queenstown and the company offered free return transfers from Queenstown for the 9am check in. I was picked up at the Skydive office by the bus driver Julian. I had so much fun talking to Julian during both the rides. So professional driver & a very knowledgeable person. He stopped at all the scenic points enroute to Skydive Wanaka so we could take pictures. He even obliged driving through Wanaka town on return journey so that I could see the Wanaka lake. A very Kind & helpful person...Thanks Julian for the wonderful bus ride :)
Now Abt the Skydiving..I had booked 12000ft skydive. On arrival, I was shown a pre-skydive video to get acquainted with the various photo packages & skydiving perse. I went with the basic photo package option. as I felt other packages were a little expensive.The staff was chatty & personal yet very professional. The whole procedure of getting ready, to going up in the plane, skydiving & landing was very safe. As luck would have it, I got a free upgrade to 15000ft while we were on the plane as there was no one diving from 12000ft but only 15000ft. That was totally fantastic.. I was ecstatic. My tandem master Ilil ( I hope I've got her name right) was also very nice & professional. 10 minutes before landing with the parachute, the tandem master tells you & makes you practice in the air how to get your legs up for the right landing. Very smooth experience indeed. Skydiving experience was obviously awesomewith fantastic views of lakes and mountains!

What is the price for 12000 feet jump? Do they operate in September?

For just 12,000 ft jump, it will cost you NZD$339. They have various package available which include video, photos and handi-cam. For the all in package, it will cost you NZD$ 629. You may like to look up their website for a clearer picture. They do dive all year round, but it all depends on the weather condition for the day.

Hi, I did the skydive about two months ago for my birthday, too!
They provide a shuttle from Queenstown to Wanaka twice a day. Please check with Wanaka Skydive to coordinate space/schedule.
You can book with any time in advance, however, the day you jump, you should call before hand to find about the weather conditions.
