The views here are truly spectacular, and the genius way they have spaced out the cottages means you feel like you're the only ones for miles! This is truly one of the most unique places you will ever stay.
The space is small but perfectly designed; cozy places to sit, a tiny kitchenette and lovely bathroom are all you really need besides a big soft bed. You can even enjoy a big outdoor tub under the stars!
Be aware - when the sun comes up you will cook a bit; recommend after enjoying the stars from bed the night before that you pull the window shades to protect from the sun in the morning. The hosts kindly leave eye masks in the bathroom which I used the second night and slept much better!
Bring some wine with you and enjoy the unique atmosphere at Skyscape. We stayed here during our time visiting Lake Tekapo and found ourselves not wanting to leave! It is about an hour drive to Tekapo.

An incredible stay nestled into the beautiful hillside. A luxurious environment with every detail thought through. The bath under the stars was amazing. Waking up to star filled sky’s and then gorgeous sunrises!! Perfectly perfect! Love to return one day!

Possibly one of the best stays in my life at any accommodation in New Zealand. Everything was perfect - room, amenities, comfort, bath, weather (very lucky with a clear winters night), platters, communication - everything!
Could not recommend this property more highly if I tried. Photos give you some insight however do not do it justice. You HAVE to see these in person.

What a phenomenal spot! Breathtaking views and stunning scenery with the most amazing view of the stars at night. One night will not be enough, we stayed for three nights and even when it rained on the last night, it was still peaceful and cosy. It was the best honeymoon we could have wished for to reset and enjoy the serenity. The units are very well appointed and have everything you need and the hosts were very attentive while still giving us our space and that outdoor tub! Worth every cent!

Arrived with clear instruction, sat on the patio, soaked in the outside bath with a glass of wine enjoying the beautiful weather, views and listening to the sounds of cows and birdsong.
Wonderful to watch the stars appearing and use the star charts provided to identify objects in the night sky.
Lovely food and great sunrise with the dawn chorus.
We never see stars this clearly at home so to enjoy such an experience in such special surroundings was truly memorable .

An amazing experience. Even with cloudy skies the experience was first class. Beautiful building, and completely private. We'd definitely stay here again.

For anyone who lives in a city, this is a must do! Cannot describe what it is like out here, and the lodging is unique on top of that. Booking was seamless, Bridget and Bevan gave clear communication, the directions were perfect (we drove in at night).

I would give more stars if I could. Our stay in the SkyScape was spectacular!! We were very fortunate to have a clear night, so the star gazing was terrific. But even on the cloudy night it was perfect. The bathtub setting is so picturesque, but even better in person. They’ve thought of everything, there are benches to lay your luggage, the kitchen is well equipped, and the bed is super comfortable. But here’s the best part… do yourself a favor and order food to be waiting for you there becasue you won’t want to leave. We order an evening platter for 2 (there were leftovers), and for the second day the ultimate salad for 2. Both were delicious!

Really amazing place to stay! Extremely secluded so could really relax and enjoy the stars as well as unwinding in the tub. We were lucky and had two extremely clear nights.
Everything was very clean and the evening dinner platter was delicious!
Would highly recommend for a special and unique place to stay in New Zealand.

We will be staying at Skyscape on Sept. 8th. I understand that the accommodation does not have a telescope. I know that the skies will be spectacular in any case. But my husband is an amateur astronomer and wants to get up close and personal with objects in the sky. We have binoculars, but could not carry a telescope from the USA. Does anyone know if there is a way that we can rent or borrow a telescope for the night?

Sorry, we missed your question on Trip Advisor. We were please to hear from you on email though!
We will be staying at Skyscape on Sept 8-9. I understand that the is no telescope and that the stars are fully visible from the little glass house and I know they will be spectacular. But my husband is an amateur astronomer and would like to get up close and personal with the objects in the sky. It would be impossible to schlep a scope from the USA. Is it even remotely possible that there is a way to rent or borrow a telescope in the area? We have great binoculars, but that won’t quite do the trick.
Does anyone know if there is a telescope at Skyscape?

No I don’t believe there is - but you have a great view of the stars and constellations just looking above your bed.
I just wanted to check regarding availability from 10–03-2018 to 12-03-2018.
