Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Booked the arrival package for when we first arrived in Fiji. Was not a good start as could not find anybody at airport waiting for us, eventually after speaking to couple people we found somebody connected to the company but they had no details of our arrival. After he phoned the office they sorted our transport, after a wait. Start driving to hotel when driver gets a call. He has to go back to airport to pick up another couple who had the same issues as we had, when we asked could he drop us at hotel first, he replied he couldn’t.
Hotel when we eventually go there was expecting us.
Coach transfer in morning was fine as was the rest of our trip around Yasawa islands using Yasawa flyer. Paid extra for 1st leg to use Captains lounge as it was gonna take 5 hours, was worth it, well looked after by the lady working that day.

Vinaka for travelling with Awesome Adventures Fiji and sorry about the issues at the airport. We have contacted our third-party coach supplier about this issue.

My partner and I booked a 7 day/ 6 nights trip with "Awesome Adventures" on Fiji - more exactly on the Yasawa Islands. Tour and Flights were booked at Flight Center.
Even though we booked at a travel agency it was not completely clear how the system works. Here comes what it is: Awesoeme Adventures provides you actually just the transver onto the Yasawa Islands form Port Dearau and back. It is NOT a tour in common sense. You will travel on you own, though it can happen that you see the same people in different places and resorts. Awesome Adventures works together with the resorts on the different islands but those are independent and all activities advertised are run by the resorts.

Awesome Adventures offers different types of tickets to travel:
- Bula Pass, which is just the transfer to the islands, you'll have to organize your accommodation
- Bula Combo Pass: transfer by boat + paid off accommodation (you can mostly choose out of 2)
- or a pre-booked "tour" such as "Coconut Cruise": variable lenght and standarts, availabilitiy to upgrade to "Full Monty" which means that 2 activities in each resort are included.
The resorts offer different activities like snorkling (FJ$35), guided walks (FJ$10), village visits (ca. FJ$20), cave trip (FJ$60), Blue Lagoon Trip (FJ$35), fishing (FJ$20). The "Full Monty" Upgrade does NOT work out. Pay everything directly at the resort. Easier and cheaper.

You get to choose the standart of your accommodation. "1 Coconut" Resorts are very basic, cold showers, dorms or twin rooms and all meals are included. "2 Coconut" Resorts are a bit better but still offer dorms and in "3 Coconut" Resorts you just have twin rooms and no meals included. We booked "1 Coconut" which was all right for us. Very nice staff, good food, nice twin rooms - but don't expect to much.

All in all the whole offer is very flexible. If I had to book again I would book the "Bula Combo Pass" with "2 Coconut twin room" without "Full Monty". Get a travel guide or read online about the Yasawa Islands and work out which places you want to visit. I hope this helped you to make a decision. Cheers.

We booked what we hoped to be the trip of a lifetime, the 6 day Fiji cruise, through Trip Advisor, who passed it onto Viator, who passed it onto Awesome Adventures Fiji, who booked the three hotels for us. We did not know which hotels we would be staying at until literally the day we left, at the harbor getting on the ferry. Fiji is absolutely stunning, the ferry rides are really cool, and the islands and hotels are beautiful. BUT we take exception to the kind of rooms we ended up with: tiny, no ocean view, three hooks on the wall without a closet, hardly any room to walk around the bed, lived straight out of the suitcase for those six days. But worst of all was the "shared facilities", which we learned about at our first destination: bathrooms shared dorm style with many other guests, most of them a third of our age. Had to walk across a dark courtyard at night to relieve ourselves, at least the showers had doors! That's not what we were told at booking. That was a big disappointment, especially when we thought we had booked the highest category there was. Food was extra and we knew that and quite expensive, which we didn't know. Some places tried to charge us extra for activities that were included because we signed up for them at the "wrong desk.". We will not book a trip like this again through Trip Advisor.

Bula Mariabjornroli, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed your time cruising onboard the Yasawa Flyer 2 and the beautiful scenery of the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. As you have rightly stated we had received your booking from Trip Advisor/Viator, to confirm a 6 Day Yasawa & Mamanuca Island Adventure package with us via Viator. We have read your comments in regards to not knowing which hotels you would be staying at until the day you checked in with us. We have checked your booking details and can confirm that your booking was made with us through Viator on the 28 December, 2017. Our reservations team sent your booking confirmation back to Viator on the same day with the detail on the resorts you would be staying at. In regards to the room types you had stayed in, you had booked a 2 coconut Double/Twin Package which is described as “Flashpacker” style accommodation on the Trip Advisor Website and we apologise that the descriptions as stated on the Tripadvisor Site did not meet your expectations. We are sorry that you did not enjoy all aspects of your recent holiday, and we hope you’ll enable us the opportunity in the future to travel with us again. The company Awesome Adventures Fiji totally ripped me off. I had paid for 4nights and 5 days including the snorkel with the sharks. When I arrive in Nadi on Nov.30, there was no transfer to the hotel from the airport for 5 hours. The Awesome adventure agents were unorganized and did nothing to assist us. We just sat on the floor in thier office and when we asked how long we would have to wait theysaid they did not know. Eventually they called for a cab. Why wait 5 hours to call for a cab.The whole first day on fiji was wasted at the airport.I asked for confirmation of my hotel and resort rooms and a voucher for airport transfers and for the snorkel with the sharks in several emails months before the trip but never received anything. All I received was a message that I would have all my documents when I arrived atthe Nadi airport. At the airport I asked the Awesome adventure agents for my documents. She took forever then gave me a voucher for a Nadi hotel and a transfer to the ship the next morning'a one night stay at the island resort but no voucher for the snorkelwith the sharks. I insisted on getting one then she assured me I woyuld receive all required vouchers at the Nadi hotel when I checked in. The check in did not give e any voucher but said I would get the voucher the next morning when L got on the bus that broughtto the water taxi that would bring me to the resort,
I gotr on the bus but still no voucher for swimming with the sharks. I was more frustrated each time I was promissed but never received the voucher for the snorkel with the sharks. I arrived at the resort and then was taken aside by the dive aster. He said I could snorkel off the beach but would not be able to snorkel with the sharks because I dd not have a voucher. i spent 4 and a half hours on my phone and theresorts phone to try to straighten it out so the resort understood and had proof thaI paid in advance for the swin with the sharks.Again another day wasted. The dive master knew I was very upset by this and after showing him my confirmation of my paid trip of $525 Canadia dollars that I could not go on the swim with the sharks this day because I spent so ong on the phone, but I could go the next day. I did not enjoy any of my time in Fiji. Rip off artists. I explained this to Awesome Adventures. They replied that Iexperienced a minor inconveinience and theywould not reimbuse me any funds for their incompetence. I have my receipt showing tyhat I paid $525 Canadian for this trip. Pre and post trip I corresponded with them through the Tour Radar site. They have erased all of the pre trip conversations and have falsely changed the price I paid to $300.00 Canadian. I have told all of my family, friends and Dental Colleagues never to book with Tour Radar, Bamba Experience or aewsome adventures. It was the worst I have ever experienced in the 3 months that I travelled from Autralia,NewZealand, and Bali. I will never go back to your sketchy, nonprofessional, unhospitable country and to make it my mission to tell anyone interested in travelling to Fiji about my nightmare trip to Fiji!!!

Bula 7continentsken Further to your review dated 1 Feb and further review posted 15 Feb I have been able to thoroughly investigate all allegations and to ensure I have all the facts which I now have. It is with regret that I have to post this on this public forum after not receiving any email from you as per my request in my response dated 1 Feb (below). However, thought it best to inform you asap of my findings and trust you will be happy with the outcome of the investigations, regarding your claims in your review. Your booking agent originally requested for a two night stay at Barefoot Kuata and later amended this to one night, hence the reason the of the rate drop you bring to everyone’s attention as we amended the booking at your agents request to reflect the overnight rate instead of two nights. As per advice sent to us by your booking agent we were holding your flight arrival time on 30.12.19 at an estimated time of arrival of 10.10am however we have confirmation from Airports Fiji that the flight was delayed and arrived into Nadi at 10:45am - some 35 minutes later than the scheduled time. We have confirmation from the resort - where you stayed with accommodation vouchers provided to them – that they picked you up as shown on their transfer manifest log that you were indeed picked up from the Awesome Adventures Fiji Airport office at 11:10am (25 minutes after landing) and your party were taken directly to your resort. This was also confirmed by our consultants working in the airport office. The resort staff have advised you were able to use resort facilities until check-in time of 2pm due to your earlier arrival. It is further reported as per their reservations system at the resort that you were checked in to your accommodation at 2:12pm. Not sure how you could have possibly checked in at 2:12pm if you were still waiting at the airport office for 5 hours as you claim. Correspondence that you refer to as being deleted is not via our correspondence, as you have booked through a third-party booking agent. There is no direct correspondence between you or your traveling companions and our reservations team nor via the agents you have mentioned prior to you (and traveling companions) arriving in Fiji or afterwards, (apart from this forum). I have also had confirmation from Barefoot Kuata they were indeed given the accommodation package documentation upon your check in displaying the activity of Snorkeling with the Sharks as part of the package you purchased through your booking agent. This was also clearly advised on your confirmation of your booking that was forwarded to your agent and hopefully they in turn forwarded this to you with your travel itinerary. The dive crew at Barefoot Kuata did not know what package you were booked on and that the fount office team at the resort were holding a voucher for your shark snorkel, nor did they bother to check with their front office team. They just took your word for it. Disappointing that no one bothered to check with each other at the resort. As we do not operate the resorts, we do trust that the communication between their own teams is provided however, doesn't seem to be the case in this instance. I will pass this information through to the management of Barefoot Kuata, who I'm sure would apologize to you for this miscommunication. We at Awesome Adventures pride ourselves on our great service and the products of the Yasawa Islands that we represent on their behalf. It is a shame that you have gone to such lengths to try and convince readers otherwise and do recommend next time you wish to travel to the Yasawa Islands in Fiji you will consider booking with us direct to avoid further confusion. We wish you safe and fun onward travels. Lauren My previous response dated; 1.2.20 Bula 7continentsken My name is Lauren & I'm General Manager, Reservations & Customer Service. Your long & informative review & accusations naturally have me, not only very concerned but also very intrigued. Please email me at your earliest convenience - customerservices@ssc.com.fj I eagerly await your email. With thanks.

Booked a trip through Awesome Adventures and South Sea Cruises and had to cancel as I realised my transfers were already included in the payment to the resort. Here I am, over a month later and having to send countless emails to chase them up for a refund.
I cancelled my trip on the 4th of April via email and I was told my refund would be processed by the 21st (when we left for Fiji) at the latest. I was then told no, refunds are processed at months end. That has been and gone too. It is now the 13th of May and I have phoned and emailed upwards of 30 times to get this sorted and still nothing. I was supposed to be talking to Miri on Tuesday who has not returned my call at all. I am so appalled and at this stage am not even sure if I will get the $700 back that I paid. This companies customer service is disgusting and absolutely doesn't represent everything fiji is. I am furious and have absolutely had it. Never ever using this company again as its been nothing but a headache.

Bula Brielle Not all is what it seems. We had responded to you over the couple of emails you sent and it was unfortunate the day you called Miri was away on sick leave and the message did not get to her on her return and for this we apologise. This was not personal, but purely a case of our staff being away sick and we faced a real staff shortage at the time, which you were made aware of as we asked for your patience and understanding. We never give actual dates as to when refunds will be processed so if you were in fact given a date I would be very surprised, but in no means doubting you, however, I believe your refund has now been processed and we do thank you for your patience and understanding. We trust you enjoyed your time in the stunning Yasawa Islands.

The company Awesome Adventures Fiji totally ripped me off. When I arrive in Nadi, 3 of us waited for 5 hours for a transfer to our hotel. The whole first day on fiji was wasted at the airport.I had asked for confirmation of my hotel and resort rooms and a voucher for airport transfers and for the snorkel with the sharks in several emails months before the trip but never received anything. At the airport I asked for but never received my documents for the shark snorkel. I insisted on getting it. She assured me I would receive all required vouchers at the Nadi hotel. I could not go on the swim with the sharks this day because I spent so long on the phone. He would fit me in next day. I did not enjoy any of my time in Fiji. Amazing Adventures admitted their incompetence and sheepishly said that I had experienced a minor inconvenience. Pre and post trip I corresponded with them .At this time all information on this trip was not available for me to view , on tour radar app, including all of my chats. It just said the tour I was on was no longer offered. I will make it my mission to tell anyone interested in traveling to Fiji about my nightmare trip!!!!!

Took this round trip twice from Nadi to the Yasawa Islands. Captains Lounge. You have choices of soft drink. Wine, beer coffee tea, peanuts, chips and sometimes cookies (they go fast). My biggest issue was on the 26th Dec when we had to take the a Flyer a day earlier than booked due to the cyclone and the Flyer wasn’t operating on our booked day. We are seniors. We boarded the Flyer and I showed the deck hand guy my Lounge pass. He said it wasn’t valid as it was for the next day! Then said the lounge is full but we could sit outside and get food/drinks to have outside. I checked in the lounge. As I did so a wave hit and I was hurtled across the area and promptly broke a rib. Several weeks later it still hurts. We were allowed to stay in the lounge. It was NOT full. Lots were laying across many seats, so seats were free. The Flyer was heaving with people and bags took a while on return to Nadi. One of their luggage trolleys fell over scattering luggage everywhere. I think I’d go by plane it I was to go again.

This is the worst organization ever. Really. I really recommend you not to book with them. They will be a real pain, which is something you definitely don’t want when going to Fiji paradise. Your whole travel can be ruined, while you expected to relax on the beach and go snorkeling whenever you feel like snorkeling. And don’t think everything will sort out afterwards. We are still waiting for a refund which probably will never come.

In our case, we booked a twin island 4-day tour last January. They would pick us up at our hotel in Nadi, to bring us to the Yasawa Flyer. However, nobody showed up. We were there on time (and even more than half an hour before) and waited for more than two hours. We asked every driver who stopped at the hotel if they were the one who should pick us up but unfortunately, they were always someone else’s driver. When we called the office, they always said that someone was on their way to pick us up. However, nobody showed up. Consequently, we missed our boat and had to wait till the next day. Because Awesome Adventures wants everything to be prepaid (of course), we lost the money of one night at the Blue Lagoon Resort ($300) and we had to book another night in Nadi ($200). We called the organization again and asked why they did not pick us up. Then they started to argue that we were not there (which was totally not the case – we have been there well in advance and well after time, even when the boat left already, and were asking every driver if he was the one to pick us up). They told us they would pick us up the next day. However, the same story again… Really, can you make this mistake a second time? Because we were alarmed due to our experience of the first day, we called a 100 times until they picked us up. Just in time, we arrived 5 minutes before the boat left. And you know what? They even told us to pay for this transfer although our booking said this was all included. We argued again, showed the papers, and managed not to pay (actually just by getting out of the car and by taking our luggage).
We have been e-mailing Awesome Adventures many times about this and asked for a refund. They first ignored us and after sending many reminder e-mails, they finally answered. They said they would investigate this case. In the end, after many e-mails, they admitted that they made a mistake but that they only can give us a letter in order to get a refund by our own travel insurance. Of course, travel insurances only refunds you when you are cancelling the booking due to specific reasons, not when an organization is not giving you what you paid for – and I think their stance is logical. So Awesome adventures admitted their fault but did not compensate us and tried to make others compensate for them. So unprofessional. As a result: we still don’t have our money back (and we think that $550 is a lot of money). The only thing we can still do is to make sure that nobody else experience the same hassle… so please, take this review into account. We are pretty easy going people and will never complain about small issues. And, unfortunately, our story was confirmed by many other people on the island… So don’t think we are one of the exceptions.

I did the 7 day 6 night coconut cruiser package on a 1 coconut level with full monte package

I read lots of bad reviews on here before going which almost put me off booking through Awesome Adventures..... however I am really glad I did as I had a fantastic time! I wanted to give a honest review of the places and experiences, so I know this post is long but I gave an overview of all aspects! I had a great time, remember this experience is a good as you make it!

The things to note,on the 1 coconut is a backpacker style experience and you are staying in dorm rooms so don't expect 5* accommodation! all the places I stayed were clean and nice and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. i had a great time and really recomend this trip/ tour. The rout I did was as follows (plus short review of place food and activities)

Waya Lailai Island- Waya Lailai Echohaven- 2 nights:
this is a village owned resort, so it is owned and run collectively by the people in the village. this was my favourite place to stay, the people were wonderful and so welcoming! at this resort you get a real Fijian experience. I was here through the new year period (celebrated for 2 weeks in the Yasawas!) we had Lovo and Kava evening which was so much fun with music and dancing. the dorm room had ceiling fans and was really nice and clean, also the food here was the best of any resort every meal was delicious!
activities to do here:
swimming with sharks- this was the highlight of my whole trip to Fiji absolutely incredible an must do (price included with full monte deal)
Summit Walk- great walk- the guides really help you out on the walk and show you some cool spots (wobbly rock!) its pretty hard going in parts as I was there in rainy season and the track was pretty muddy and slippery in parts (however we all jumped straight in the sea after the walk to wash all the mud off- great fun!)
Village visit - this is an additional activity and was about $20 FJD (this visit is cheaper than village visits in other resorts)

Naviti Island- White Sandy Beach Resort- 2 Nights
this is located is a beautiful calm bay, perfect for swimming. the dorm rooms were clean but no ceiling fan so can get a bit sticky at night, the food here was my least favourite of the places I stayed, it was ok but not at the Waya Lailai standard.
activities to do here:
Snorkelling at the Coral garden: WOW this is beautiful this was my fave snorkelling in the Yasawas beautiful coral and fish. I was lucky enough to see some reef sharks and a manta ray too (even tho it was out of season!- I felt so lucky) (included in full monte price)
Water skiing- additional activity (around $20 fjd) good fun but take sun screen out on the boat - we all got a bit burnt!
Volley Ball! we had a great Volley ball tournament here, lots of fun with locals and people from our resort and the resort next door great fun and free- just start a game and everyone will soon join in! :)

Nacula Island- Nabua Lodge- 2 Nights
I loved this place, the island was my favourite for views etc.... just stunning crystal clear water so nice to just chill in, also lots of hammocks and fruit trees all round, I want to go back in mango season! hahaha! the staff here were great so friendly and welcoming, they did traditional Fijian dancing for us one night really good fun! they have music playing most nights so you can sit on the deck and chill with a beer! the food here was good, we had Lovo again which was great. all other meals were good too... I didn't go hungry here!
Activities to do here:
Snorkelling Blue Lagoon: nice snorkelling lots of fish not much coral its a nice way to spend an afternoon in the bright blue waters of the blue lagoon! honestly the water around this island is incredible
Sawailau Caves- these caves are pretty impressive, also the water is cold in here! there are guides in the caves to help you get through into the next cave (it is pretty easy you are only underwater for about 3-5 seconds great experience (price included in full monte package)

one other note- on all islands the power was on generator, this meant that they turn the power off between certain hours so check these hours so you know when to charge your phone camera. a powerbank would be great to take if you have one

The Yasawa Flyer: the boat is a catamaran so is pretty fast and smooth (obvs depending on the sea) there is air conditioned indoor seating as well as two decks, the top deck has no shade so wear plenty of sun block if you sit up here! but the middle deck has open air and some shade! there is a small shop selling drinks and snacks on board. they announce every stop and resort so its pretty hard to miss your stop also all your baggage is tagged with the name of your resort so they have a pretty good system of getting you to where you want to go! the boat says it has WIFI I didn't manage to get this to work tho! the boat was on time and running well everyday I was there so no problems!

transfer busses to and from accommodation were provided so this made getting back to the hostel in Nadi very easy.

as awesome adventures offer different tours and allow people to mix and match there own holiday packages you may be on the same loop as a group of people or you could meet a new group each day. I met lots of other solo travellers so would recommend this trip to groups, couples and solo travellers

all in all it was a amazing holiday, I had a great time and met some great people! if you want to go island hopping in the Yasawas go with Awesome Adventures
