A lovely memorial to the 10,000 dead in the 2004 tsunami. It really makes you think about the devastating force of nature Mun what is otherwise such a serene and tranquil place.

For me the most moving factor was the Buddha turning his back towards the sea. As he is protecting the people against the threats from the ocean. Had a quiet walk on the beach. Thougths with all the people that lost their loved ones.

It's 13 years since we were horrified by the tsunami, and this memorial park makes me remember friends that were hit by it, some died, others survived, with scars for lifetime. And it reminds me that Mother Earth might be whimsical and that we should...More
