Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I drove down from Columbus to see Steve Hackett perform the entire Genesis “Seconds Out” albums and more live. It was an excellent show! I’ve waited over 50 years to hear “Supper’s Ready” performed live. No overwhelming light shows or theatrics but fantastic music! I liked it better than the Roger Waters show I saw later that year.
It’s an ornate old theater that’s been lovingly restored. Right downtown on the south east side. The Phelps hotel is right around the corner if you’re looking for a nice place to stay while in town. Seats are comfy and I don’t think there’s a bad view in the entire place.
Great music, great venue and a reasonably quick serving bar. I was truly a happy camper! Go! Enjoy!

We came to the Taft for a concert. The venue changed from the theater to the ballroom (I'm assuming due to low ticket sales) days before the show. The staff and security team were the most helpful and friendly of any concert I've ever attended. It's a great venue and I am looking forward to coming back.

I drove down from Columbus for Steve Hackett’s “Foxtrot at 50 and more” show. If you’ve never heard of Steve, or Genesis (the original, not the sappy pop songs from the Collins years), or Foxtrot you should be ashamed! He put on a fantastic show! The Taft is a wonderful place. Great visibility. Comfy seats. Excellent acoustics/sound. Not obscene beer prices too. The Phelps hotel is right around the corner and a great place to stay for shows!
Great place. Go!

The show was great however, the security staff at the end of the night was horrible. Who forces toddlers into 32° weather and turns the lights off in the lobby area just because we got five minutes to lock up? I requested for them to turn the lights back on and they would not. It’s cold and our ride was pulling up to the building so we didn’t have to watch toddlers through the cold streets in downtown Cincinnati. This is just ridiculous and rude. So inconsiderate. Two older employees. Both had gray hair.

Three very different events in five days in 2025, two of which the female ushers were disruptive and downright nuts. Check in is great, but they need to train or fire their ushers. Unnecessarily and unproportionately aggressive & hostile. Really detracted from the guest experience. I've been to hundreds if not thousands of events and NEVER experienced such unprofessional, unhappy, ushers!!

Went to a show at this theater, when the show ended I walked over to the seats where my friends I cam with were. An employee of this theater pushed me with both hands using all of her force because she wanted me to leave the area and she physically blocked from passing through the aisle to my friends. I was so astonished she would treat an adult paying customer in this manner, I went to take her picture so I could speak to the manager and point out exactly who she was. She then grabbed my phone and refused to give it back for quite some time and my screen is now cracked. Spoke to a woman named Robyn who said she was the manager and that she would speak with the general manager Ryan. I can’t even believe that this is the kind of place that allows their ushers to assault a customer, snatch and damage their property. This is nuts. I filled out an incident report and I had better hear from upper management.

Went for Home Free concert. Beautiful architecture. But more importantly...
There is handicapped accessible and then there is handicapped friendly. The staff was wonderful in helping with accommodations, and the venue itself was easily accessible. Special shoutout to Jackie, who really looked out for my wheelchair-bound friend and helped us.
All of the employees were very friendly and seemed happy in their jobs, from the chipper young lady at the bar to the security persons at the door. It made our experience that much more enjoyable.

It's your usual large city historic theater. I'm not ah, a big person by any means but felt crammed in my seat. You might feel a little claustrophobic at a sold out show. Restrooms kinda industrial. Bring cash if you want drinks...a lot of cash.

Attended an evening show & based the review on that! There were A LOT of employees - all extremely nice and helpful. Our seats (comfortable) were on the main level and the bar (no wait) and bathrooms (clean & no wait) were in a large area in the basement. I don't know if the theatre has any say with the merchandise table location but it was off to the side in a narrow area that you would pass thru going to/from the basement. Too cramped to get to - would have been nice to check it out.
Please enforce the no camera policy when in effect. It's frustrating when someone in front of you videos the show with their phone. I could have complained but I shouldn't have to leave my seat and report this. The two times I saw it addressed, they went right back to recording when the usher left. It was obvious.
The big issue was when we left - there were 20+ people right outside the front door trying to stop you (even grabbing your arm) asking for money. 2000 people leaving at once and people blocking your exit begging isn't good. We encountered this many times during the day in Cincinnati and it is clearly an issue the city must address. It's sad that people are in a situation that they have to beg, but we did not feel safe leaving the theatre at night. It very easily could have been a volatile situation. All it would have taken was one person that maybe had a bit too much to drink to take offense to being stopped or grabbed.

Does anyone know if a concert PIT ticket is standing room or actual seats?

Hank Williams Jr. played there in '73. He was only one on show. Another show around that time was Tammy Wynette and George Jones together (no air at the time and ridiculously hot:)
