If you don't associate Waikiki with going to church - drop by St Augustine -by-the-Sea on Kalakaua Avenue corner Ohua Street (right across from Waikiki Beach/ Beaufiul Catholic masses every day at 7:00 am (except Mondays). Confession times are posted outside the church. Hawaiian chanting and music are incorporated in the 12 noon mass; and Sunday 5:00 pm mass has a Tongan choir with folks in full Tongan attire. Impressive! Mass attendees are a combinatio of visiting tourists and local residents .

Walking distance from our hotel and right across from Waikiki Beach. This church is beautiful and we enjoyed the Mass. There is also limited parking for the church.

The Mass with Tonga choir and servers was an uplifting experience. It proves the Catholic Mass is the same no matter what culture. The choir accompaniment in the tonga language and their cultural dress was a learning experience.I f you want to experience a moving Mass I recommend Saint Augustine.

Lovely Catholic Church and just as lovely mass with an Hawaiian flavor. Mahalo Fr. Lane for a wonderful celebration of faith. Whenever we visit Waikiki, we attend mass. St. Augustine By the Sea was about to open an education / history facility. I hope the new education center shows the parish’s 160 year history. Try to arrive a few minutes early for mass. We have attended the Saturday 5 pm and Sunday 8 and 10 am masses and the pews do fill up. Aloha and Mahalo.
